we use the expression ( USED TO ) in English to express the idea that something was an old habit and stopped in the past .
( USED TO ) can also be used to talk about past facts or generalizations which are no longer true..
EX :
- Jerry used to go to Italy in summer ( he went every summer , but now he does not )
- I used to play tennis ( i played tennis before and now i stopped )
- Pele used to play in Brazil national team ( it is a fact that he played there )
- Oranges used to cost less in Rome , but now they are so expensive ( it is a fact that oranges was expensive )
SIMPLE PRESENT :

(subject + verb )
we use simple present tense for :
-To express the idea that an action is repeated or usual. The action can be a habit, a hobby, a daily event, a scheduled event or something that often happens.
-The Simple Present can also indicate the speaker believes that a fact was true before, is true now, and will be true in the future.
-To talk about scheduled events in the near future . This is commonly done when you want to talk about public transportation

linking verbs are often followed by the Adjectives instead of Adverbs . In this situation , the Adjective describes the subject of the sentence rather than the verb ! here's some examples :

Usually we form the Adverbs by adding (LY) to the Adjectives , there are also irregular adverbs such as ( well ) and ( fast ) .

* USE 1 : Adverbs can be used to modify or describe verbs .
EX : - Mike talks (loudly) .
- Ali sits (silently) in the class .
* USE 2 : Adverbs can be used to modify or describe Adjectives .
EX : - Eiffel tower is (impressively) tall .
* USE 3 : Adverbs can be used to describe other Adverbs .
EX : - she spoke (extremely) confidently !!
- The dog war running (incredibly) quickly !

There are many different Adjective endings such as (ful) (ous) (y) (ive) , ( beautiful ) ( gorgeous ) ( lazy ) ( attractive ) are all adjectives .
