Shamona is a Syrian school established in Istanbul / Turkey as the first school of its kind, seeking to
provide a solution to the dropped-out Syrian refugee children and help them resume their education. For the scholastic year 2015 – 2016, the students enrolled are 967 ranging from KG3 to 12th grade, with a
staff of 71 teachers and admins, all are Syrian refugees un Turkey. The school totally
relies on donations to keep going on. Vision :
To contribute in educating, ethically and intellectually, the Syrian young generation who should help in
rebuilding Syria in the future. Aims :
1-To provide education for the Syrian refugee children in Istanbul / Turkey .
2-To provide job opportunities for the Syrian refugee teachers in Istanbul / Turkey .
3-To reshape the intellect and the ethics of the Syrian students .
4-To consolidate the national identity and loyalty through focusing on the culture of the Syrian society .
