Hello readers!
Today’s Topic: Few vs. A Few
Both few and a few are used with countable nouns (friends, books, apples, students, etc.).
The difference is the feeling or meaning.
1. Few = almost none (negative meaning)
It means the number is small and not enough.
Structure:
few + countable noun
Example
There are few Doritos left because Jack ate them all.
→ Almost none remain.
Easy idea:
❌ Few = a problem / not enough
2. A Few = some (positive meaning)
It means the number is small but enough.
Structure:
a few + countable noun
Example:
There are a few Doritos left. You can eat some.
Some are still there.
Easy idea: A few = some / enough (Positive meaning)

Hello everyone!
Make your sentences more exciting in the past tense!
Instead of simple words like ran and went, use strong action words to show what happened in a clearer and more fun way.
And instead of using the undescriptive, common word went, why not opt for a more descriptive, exciting verb to describe the movement? In this case darted is perfect for describing how the armadillo moved, as it shows a sense of speed and fear that armadillo usually exhibit.
Ran-Went
Now let’s use different descriptive verbs to give a completely different feeling to the sentence. This is to describe how verbs can suddenly change your thoughts.
Scampered- darted
Scurried- slipped into.
