Dear EATSA friends, what a wonderful Poznań–Kraków EATSA journey it was!
For five inspiring days, EATSA2026 Poland brought together 101 participants for 55 presentations, including six keynote lectures, as well as interactive workshops, art exhibitions and performances, Tourism Café Labs, cultural visits and many warm moments shared within the EATSA family.
Under the theme Bridges over Borders: Tourism in an Accelerating World, we exchanged ideas, crossed disciplinary and cultural boundaries, strengthened old friendships and created many new ones. Once again, the conference reminded us that EATSA is built on openness, creativity and friendship. WE ARE THE BRIDGE.

Big news from Kraków! 🎉 On 2 July, during the EATSA General Assembly, our members elected a new Board of Directors for the next three years.
A heartfelt thank you to Kevser Cinar, Madhuri Sawant, and Piotr Zmyślony for everything they gave to EATSA as President and Vice Presidents over the past term - it didn't go unnoticed.
And a warm welcome (well, in Piotr's case - welcome back, just one seat higher! 😄) to our new Board: Piotr Zmyślony as President, with Gyurácz-Németh Petra and Mona ES as Vice Presidents. Wishing you all a great two years ahead!
We also had a great moment during the GA: the proposal for the next EATSA conference, presented by Prof. Seul Ki Lee and Prof. Young-joo Ahn, was put to a vote and approved. More soon!

Keynote announcement: Prof. Richard Robinson at EATSA 2026 in Kraków!
Before becoming an academic, Prof. Robinson spent nearly twenty years working as a chef. That experience now drives his research into tourism, hospitality, and the service industries - particularly the people who make them work.
His keynote - "Tourism, Labour and Mobilities: Bridges, Borders, or Barriers?" - will ask hard questions about how workers move through tourism systems, and what gets in the way.
He's currently a Vice Chancellor Fellow at Northumbria University (UK) and joins us as part of a strong keynote lineup for this year's "Bridges over Borders" programme.

EATSA 2026 keynote speaker announcement!
We're excited to share that Prof. Ewa Mińska-Struzik (Uniwersytet Ekonomiczny w Poznaniu / Poznan University of Economics and Business) will be speaking at EATSA 2026, taking place right here in Poznań.
Her talk will explore one of the most interesting questions in tourism research today: Can tourism exist without travel? She'll look at how virtual tours and remote guiding fit into global trade frameworks - and what that means for how we think about tourism in a digital world.
It's the kind of talk that makes you rethink assumptions you didn't even know you had.
See you in Poznań! 👉 https://eatsaresearchers.org/eatsa-2026-poland/
