My name is Reyhan Kanber. I was born in Istanbul. After completing my primary education in Istanbul, I moved with my family to Bodrum, right on the Aegean Coast, where I graduated from High School. My love for languages led me to pursue a degree at Gazi University in Ankara, where I studied foreign languages for four years. I have a working level fluency in both English and French in addition to my deep understanding and love for Turkish. After graduation, I worked at the Bodrum Municipality office as the Secretary to the Mayor. Subsequently, I held a frontline manager position in Tourism for 4 years, before opening my own retail business selling swimming costumes/suits. 14 years later, I returned to my passion for languages and have been teaching Turkish to foreigners in person and online (via Skype) for over 4 years. My students come from all over the world and include English, French, American, Pakistani, Scottish, Indian, German, Swedish, Irish, Dutch, and Belgian. Available Class Options:

Anywhere Turkish Approach
My teaching approach is to first understand the ability, needs, and requirements of each student. This may take a few lessons before we can jointly develop a partnership plan that is best suited for you. Flexibility and customization is key to our collective success and through check point meetings, we will review our progress and make adjustments as needed to make sure you are succeeding. For example, some students only want only to learn to speak practically and don't want too much grammar. Yet others, who may be doing business, or are settled in Turkey with kids, or for their desire to master the language, may want rigorous training in grammar and rules. Some students want to learn quickly, other at a slower pace. You get the point. Each student is different and has different needs and ability. Thus each student's plan is different. As a general rule, students taking 2 classes a week regularly for about 1 year (with time for vacation) and who keep up with homework, can be fluent at speaking Turkish for daily conversation needs. With just one class per week for a year, students can be successful at basic conversation. Ultimately, your success will depend on your current ability, your capacity and motivation to learn, your time commitment and amount of self learning and homework.
