SUBLUMIN is a site-specific light installation derived from Lumin, developed in direct relation to architectural surfaces. Light follows the joints, seams, and cracks of a stone wall, revealing its structural rhythm. The wall is perceived as a mass through which light passes, making its texture and depth visible. As one of the first spatial encounters before the Lumin experience, SUBLUMIN sets the pace of the environment without drawing attention to itself.
As the viewer approaches, the body enters the space between light and surface, casting shadows that reveal movement and position. Proximity shifts perception: light recedes while the surface comes forward. SUBLUMIN explores the temporal relationship between surface, body, and light, preparing the viewer perceptually and spatially for the Lumin environment.
