Within the scope of the “Musical Playground Design: Co-creating Sound in Outdoor Play” project, conducted as part of the ID202 Industrial Design II course and facilitated by Prof. Dr. Gülay Hasoğan, Prof. Dr. Çağla Doğan, Inst. Dr. Dilruba Oğur, Dr. Res. Assist. Yağmur Merve Arık Özgürlük ve Res. Assist. Ezgi Özkürkçü Özbudak, students from METU Kindergarten and Özel Atacan College Çayyolu Campus visited our faculty on May 5, 2026, and participated in co-design sessions with our students. Throughout the sessions, children and students collaboratively developed ideas and engaged in creative design activities focusing on sound and musical interaction in outdoor playgrounds. We would like to thank all participating children, teachers, and everyone involved for their valuable contributions and participation.

ID202 Industrial Design II dersi kapsamında Prof. Dr. Gülay Hasoğan, Prof. Dr. Çağla Doğan, Inst. Dr. Dilruba Oğur, Dr. Araş. Gör. Yağmur Merve Arık Özgürlük and Araş. Gör. Ezgi Özkürkçü Özbudak yürütücülüğünde gerçekleştirilen “Musical Playground Design: Co-creating Sound in Outdoor Play” projesi kapsamında, 5 Mayıs 2026 tarihinde ODTÜ Yuva ve Anaokulu ve Özel Atacan Koleji Çayyolu Kampüsü öğrencileri fakültemizi ziyaret ederek öğrencilerimizle birlikte tasarım çalıştaylarında bir araya geldiler. Çalıştaylar boyunca çocuklar ve öğrenciler birlikte açık hava oyun alanlarında ses ve müzikal etkileşim üzerine fikirler geliştirerek yaratıcı tasarım çalışmaları gerçekleştirdiler. Değerli katılımları ve katkıları için tüm çocuklara, öğretmenlere ve emeği geçen herkese teşekkür ederiz.

Müzik deneyimi malzeme yoluyla aktarılabilir mi? 🎼

ODTÜ Endüstriyel Tasarım Bölümü yüksek lisans öğrencisi Begüm Acar’ın, Prof. Dr. Owain Pedgley danışmanlığında yürüttüğü tez çalışmasında, ses/tını algısı ile dokunsal malzeme deneyimi arasındaki ilişki araştırılmaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında sizden farklı malzemeleri deneyimlemeniz, kısa ses örnekleri dinlemeniz ve bu deneyimleri kendi algınıza göre değerlendirmeniz istenecektir. Deney yaklaşık 30-45 dakika sürmektedir ve UTEST’te (ODTÜ Mimarlık Fakültesi 20 numaralı oda) yüz yüze gerçekleştirilecektir.

A seasoned leader with over 20 years of experience in strategy, business development, and innovation. During her tenure as Strategy and Business Development Director at Sabancı Holding, she led the company’s 10-year and 5-year strategic planning processes, playing an active role in investment, growth, and divestment decisions. She provided leadership across the Group in shaping the innovation vision, from the design to the ex*****on of various programs and platforms in strategic planning, business development, and innovation.

As the Founder, Executive, and Chairman of the Board of Sabancı ARF (Almost Ready to Fly) Accelerator Program and Corporate Venture Capital (CVC), she established a pioneering structure that bridges early-stage startups with the corporate world. Over four cohorts, nearly 60 projects were launched, scaled, and supported in accessing investment opportunities.

Currently, she works as an independent professional, providing consulting services in strategic innovation and ecosystem building. She also delivers training programs focused on leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship, mentors startups, serves on boards, and actively contributes to the ecosystem as an investor, including participation in a US-based technology fund.

Sizleri ID523 Ürün Tasarımı ve Kullanıcı Deneyiminde Estetik lisansüstü dersi kapsamında üretilen çalışmaları içeren “Kampüse Estetik Bir Bakış: Birlik İçindeki Çeşitliliği Keşfetmek” başlıklı sergimize davet ediyoruz. Sergi, Mayıs ayının sonuna kadar ODTÜ Mimarlık Fakültesi’nde ziyarete açık olacaktır.

Mehmet Emin Okutan has completed his undergraduate degree in Management with a concentration in Marketing from University of Maine and MBA from Bilkent University in Ankara Turkey. He is the cofounder of Viveka Incubation Center: the first private incubation center dedicated to cultivation of technology based startups since 2010. He has a high track record of mentorship through seed funding programs initiated through TÜBİTAK, UNDP and World Bank. Since Viveka has expanded its operation in strategic innovation programmes and leadership involving innovators and corporates. He is a part time lecturer related to entrepreneurship and new product development in Turkey and Azerbaijan.
