Bahar Koşusu 2026’da hocalarımız, hayalleri olan ama desteğe ihtiyaç duyan başarılı kadın öğrencilerimiz için koştu. Rektörümüz Sayın Kürşat Aydoğan’ın öncülüğünde gerçekleşen bu anlamlı etkinlikte, akademisyenlerimiz eğitimde fırsat eşitliğine katkı sağlamak amacıyla bir araya geldi. Uygulamalı Bilimler Fakültesi Dekan Yardımcımız Doç.Dr. Ayşe Collins ve CTIS Bölüm Başkanımız Dr. Erkan Uçar da bu etkinliğe katılarak bağış toplamaya destek verdiler.
Atılan her adım, bir öğrencinin hayatına dokunan bir umut oldu. Çünkü biliyoruz ki eğitime yapılan her katkı, geleceğe yapılan en güçlü yatırımdır.

Tourism & Hotel Management Department jointly with its Tourism Club hosted on Tuesday 21.04.2026 an insightful session in collaboration with Marriott International, where students had the opportunity to explore internships, career paths, and the prestegious Voyage Program across the EMEA region. Rima Pradhan and Cenk Koruyucu shared their valuable industry expertise, career journeys, and practical advice on how to succeed in hospitality industry. The session provided a clearer perspective on global opportunities within Marriott International and inspired many attendees to take their next steps with confidence.

On April 9, 2026, the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, in collaboration with Tourism Club and the Ankara Gastronomy Association, hosted a seminar and workshop titled “The Art of Chocolate by Gamze Baş.”
Gamze Baş, who was selected as the Best Chocolate Chef of 2025 by Gault & Millau, delivered an inspiring seminar on the art of chocolate. Following the seminar, members of the Ankara Gastronomy Association and students from various departments of our university, participated in a chocolate-making workshop held in the department’s demo kitchen.
At the end of the event, Ela Saraç Akça, President of the Ankara Gastronomy Association, presented a plaque of appreciation to Acting Chair Jamel B. Chafra in recognition of the department’s hospitality. In return, Mr. Chafra presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Ms. Baş for sharing her valuable expertise and experiences with the students.
The event concluded with a group photo featuring the academic staff of the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, participating students, members of the Ankara Gastronomy Association, and the guest chef, Gamze Baş.

On Thursday, April 9th, 2026, starting from 6:00 PM, the Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, in collaboration with Tourism Club and Ankara Gastronomy Association, will host a chocolate-themed seminar followed by a workshop led by Gamze Baş, who was named Best Chocolate Chef by Gault&Millau in 2025.
Students who will take place in the workshop will be selected by a draw among seminar attendees.

On April 2nd, 2026, Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, jointly with Tourism Club, hosted an inspiring seminar titled “From Idea to Investment: Journey of Basil.” The event welcomed Zafer Elcik, founder of Basil Restaurant, and Zeynep Köksal Yaykıran (THM ‘02), investor at Basil Restaurant, as guest speakers.
During the seminar, speakers shared their professional experiences with attendees, focusing on key themes such as innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability within the hospitality industry. Drawing from their own journey of establishing and developing Basil Restaurant, they provided valuable insights into the transformation of an idea into a successful investment.
The seminar attracted strong interest not only from Tourism and Hotel Management students but also from students across various departments, creating a dynamic, interactive and engaging atmosphere.
At the end of the event, THM Acting Chair Jamel Ben Chafra, presented certificates of appreciation to distinguished speakers in recognition of their valuable contributions.

Bilkent Üniversitesi Koordinatörlüğü’nde Almanya, Finlandiya, İspanya, İtalya, Türkiye ve İngiltere’den toplam 14 ortak kuruluşla yürütülen CULTURATI Projesi’nin hayata geçirildiği ilk müze Rahmi M. Koç Müzesi oldu.
Proje, Bilkent Üniversitesi Uygulamalı Bilimler Fakültesi Turizm ve Otel İşletmeciliği Bölümü hocalarımızdan Dr. Eda Gürel’in koordinatörlüğü’nde yürütülmektedir.

Turizm ve Otel İşletmeciliği Bölümü, Turizm Kulübü ile birlikte 25 Mart 2026 tarihinde “Girişten Direktörlüğe: Kariyer Yolculuğu” başlıklı çevrimiçi bir kariyer söyleşisi düzenledi. Etkinliğe, İstanbul Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus’un Ticaret Direktörü A. Korhan Yüksel başkanlık etti. Değerli konuşmacı, sektördeki ilk adımlarından lüks otelcilikte liderlik rolüne kadar olan yolculuğunu paylaştı. Katılımcılar, konuşmacının sektörün zorlukları, büyümesi ve ortaya çıkan trendlerle ilgili vizyonundan keyif aldılar. Etkinlik, samimi ve ilgi çekici bir atmosfer yaratarak birçok katılımcıyı turizm ve otelcilik alanındaki kendi kariyer yolları konusunda daha ilhamlı ve özgüvenli hale getirdi.

The department of Tourism & Hotel Management, jointly with Tourism Club, hosted an online career talk entitled “Entry to Director: Career Journey” on March, 25th 2026. The event was led by A. Korhan Yüksel, Director of Commerce at Mandarin Oriental Bosphorus, Istanbul. Esteemed speaker shared his journey from his first steps in the industry to assuming a leadership role in luxury hospitality. Attendees enjoyed speaker’s vision pertinent to industry challenges, growth and emerging trends. The event created a genuine and engaging atmosphere, leaving many participants inspired and more confident about their own career paths in tourism and hospitality.
