CIRATM-11 was a valuable moment of exchange and learning.
Prof. Vladan Koncar, Professor at ENSAIT – University of Lille (France), shared his experience during the conference, highlighting the richness of discussions, the opportunity to reconnect with the textile research community, and the high quality of contributions from young researchers and keynote speakers.
He also presented his keynote on electronic and smart textiles, with a special focus on medical applications, one of the most promising and impactful fields for intelligent textiles today.
CIRATM-9
CIRATM is a scientific meeting organized by the Textile Engineering Laboratory every two years.
This conference is aimed to provide an international forum for presentation & discussion of the latest scientific concepts & technological developments in the textile field. It also intends to promote sharing ideas & emerging technologies, as well as to foster Research & Development collaborations amongst academia, research institutions & relevant industries.
“Smart textiles are not just about innovation, they are about sustainability and durability.”
That’s the vision shared by Dr. Imene Ghezal, Assistant Professor at the Higher Institute of Technological Studies of Ksar Hellal and future President of CIRATM.
At CIRATM-11, she emphasized how intelligent textiles can reshape the textile sector, creating materials that last longer, perform better, and support a more sustainable industry.
A clear direction for the future of textiles: where intelligence meets responsibility.
What is CIRATM-11 really about?
As explained by Dr. Sondes Gargoubi, President of the Organizing Committee and Research Professor in Textiles and Materials, CIRATM-11 is built on one key idea: bringing research and industry together to face today’s global challenges.
With more than 22 years of history, the conference has evolved into an international platform focused on sustainable materials, bio-based products, and digital transformation.
Researchers, students, and industry professionals from 16+ countries come together to exchange experiences, encourage collaboration, and launch joint research initiatives with real industrial impact.
From Europe to Africa and Asia, CIRATM-11 continues to grow as a space for dialogue, innovation, and international cooperation in textiles and materials.
