Li Shui Ching and Yu Suet Ping (2000:11), in their article, showed that since they have
introduced songs in their teaching, they have found that students are quite
interested in singing and listening to songs, which drives them to engage in a
more in-depth study about the topic under consideration. According to them:
to evaluate the effectiveness of songs, one should observe the performance of the
students while singing. Most students showed interest in singing and they sing and
act together. Even the weaker students really enjoy the activities. Students feel a sense
of achievement when they are able to learn a song like structure drills; songs give
students intensive practice in selected patterns without boredom (p. 12)
The lyrics very often are rhymes that make English easier to learn and memorize.
When songs are carefully selected and accompanied with suitable activities, they
can be very effective tools to enhance students’ motivation in learning English as a
Foreign Language. According to Grobler (1990:13).
“Learners develop in total through songs because of their sensual awareness through
experimentation, selection and interpretation of sound. With active singing, the
learner discovers language structures and vocabulary incidentally and spontaneously
which carry over to conversation situations..."

We swapped notebooks for the smart board to day to tackle some tricky grammar structures. .

Today in class,we took our vocabulary lesson to the big screen! Using our interactive board. We turned a standard vocabulary and grammar drill into an interesting challenge.🥰🤩 .

Moving beyond passive learning. Today, my students took the lead physically engaging with the smart board to master new vocabulary and grammar structures.🏅🏆🎖

Unjumble letters makes "hard work" look like play. Watching them collaborate and cheer each other on is the best part of my day! 🌟
