I developed a passion for advising parents after 30 years of teaching children from all over the world. During those years, many concerned and often desperate parents came to me for parenting advice. They were all looking for the same thing; how could they improve their parenting skills to better help their child, and themselves. As a result, I decided to turn this passion into a career in parent coaching. My 25 years as director of The Pines Preschool helped expand my skills from the multicultural education of students to educating parents from around the world. I coach parents on how to apply good parenting practices and how to improve communication skills through a better understanding of their children’s needs and behaviors. Through coaching, I help parents improve their relationship with their children and each other. My experiences working with a variety of cultures and languages make me adaptable and very effective. I excel in listening to parent’s concerns, gaining their confidence and advising them in a caring, non-judgmental environment. I am able to identify positive parenting practices that will best help their specific family situation. I see beyond the short-term problems to the longer-term potential of the child.
