🌊🤝 BENI-MARINE TIMOR-LESTE STRENGTHENS TEAM CAPACITY THROUGH NATURE-BASED TRAINING
📅 From 24–28 June 2026, Beni-Marine Timor-Leste conducted a five-day intensive training program facilitated by Mr. Ping-Huan Liao (Taiwan), focusing on team development, leadership, and experiential learning in a natural environment.
Throughout the training, participants learned through hands-on activities and direct experience, strengthening their communication, teamwork, leadership, decision-making, adaptability, and problem-solving skills—all essential competencies for marine conservation and outdoor education.
🚣♂️🌊 The program featured kayaking activities in Beloi, Warwana, and Akrema, along with direct observation of key coastal ecosystems, including mangrove forests, and seagrass beds, deepening participants' understanding of nature and marine conservation. The team also completed a 13 km hiking expedition, building resilience, endurance, and teamwork, followed by a 4.2 km kayaking expedition from Bikeli to Beloi, which further challenged their endurance, coordination, and navigation skills.
🤿🌊 The training concluded with a snorkeling activity in the Beloi Marine Protected Area (MPA), where participants observed healthy coral reefs and the rich marine biodiversity that make Timor-Leste's waters unique.
🌙 Each evening, participants also took part in team-building games, including Puzzle Challenge, Bullseye, and Traffic Jam, designed to strengthen creativity, critical thinking, confidence, communication, and collaboration among team members.
🙏 This valuable experience not only enhanced the team's technical knowledge and leadership capacity but also reaffirmed Beni-Marine Timor-Leste's commitment to protecting the ocean, promoting marine education, and supporting sustainable marine development in Timor-Leste.
