Today, on September 27, 2024, students studying English Language and Literature attended an informational session about U.S. scholarship and exchange opportunities that are accessible for young people in Timor-Leste, delivered by Mr. Leopoldo Gusmão as an exchange program coordinator with the U.S. Embassy in Dili and Ms. Lidia de Araújo as an EducationUSA Timor-Leste Advisor. These programs include Fulbright, YSEALI, USTL, and UGRAD.

After that, there was a Q&A session with Mr. Leopoldo, Ms. Lidia, and two alumni who shared about their experiences studying in the US: Mr. Elvis Belo and Ms. Felismina Carvalho dos Reis.

ENGLISH AND LITERATURE STUDENTS IN ACTION!!!

We are very happy to see these students entertained by the activities that we shared with them, we grinned and were delighted by these children's excitement.
In this activity, we taught them some English vocabulary while also exchanging ideas, riddles and outdoor games.

Additionally, we would like to express our gratitude to mana Inna Naletova, Dilimart & BEE Timor-Leste E.P for their assistance in making this activity a success.

ENGLISH AND LITERATURE “HABELUN MALU” OR FRIENDSHIP BUILDING “BINA AKRAB” ACTIVITY PROGRAM

Day 1 - May 2nd, 2024

Our group began with the mass celebrated by Fr. Cerilio dos Santos Maia and followed by a brief word of encouragement by our Magnificent Rector Friar Professor, Doctor Joel Casimiro Pinto, OFM and our director of language school prof. Dr. Ana Isabel C. Silva. Later on, we procced with our journey to Gleno.

In this program, there are five main activities which are:

1. to share our knowledge in the area of English Literature for the young generations at Ermera municipality at Dona Ana Lemos elementary school, Gleno;
2. as part of our work of charity for the community, to provide for the basic needs such as: rice, soap, oil, etc... for seven (7) households ;
3. to have a friendly futsal match with locals;
4. to donate 200 plants (ai-mahoni & ai-samtuku) for the community;
5. to prepare the community for the Sunday mass.

The purpose of this activity is to link a strong friendship between us and the students and the community. We hope that from these activities will allow us to know more about what the community needs and what we are going to do and give to this country.
