Learning democracy beyond the classroom!

Our students had the incredible opportunity to visit the National Parliament of Timor-Leste, where they gained firsthand insight into how laws are made, how leaders serve the people, and how democracy functions in action. Through observation, discussion, and inquiry, students connected classroom learning with real-world civic engagement.

A valuable experience that inspired critical thinking, responsible citizenship, and a deeper appreciation for democratic institutions.

The 5-, 6-, and 7-year-old students went on a field trip to the Mangrove Conservation Center in Tibar! What a great chance for us to learn about the habitats in Timor and how people can help our environment!

Now that we’ve finished our AP Biology exam, it’s time for some fun! After learning about the cardiovascular system and its anatomy, we dissected sheep hearts in our AP Biology class. By observing the internal anatomy of the heart, we were able to trace the flow of blood through it and observe how the structure of the heart muscle and valves ensures the blood flows in the correct direction.

The 11-year-old students experiment with a wide variety of media to create art. In the Mixed Media class, they discovered what written communication was like before the internet. They had fun learning how our ancestors wrote letters with fountain pens and sealed their envelopes with personal seals and wax!

Giving the 3- and 4-year-old students independent choices in the library helps strengthen their motivation to read, especially when they feel their preferences are respected. Allowing them to choose their own books also encourages them to read more. As a result, they become more engaged, confident, and motivated readers.

Library Highlights! Our 5YO to 7YO classes are making the most of their library time—enjoying stories and exploring a variety of fiction books! From fables and folktales to fairy tales, young readers are not only having fun but also selecting books to take home and continue their reading journey.

In Science, Biology students are giving presentations on Natural Selection. Life science students are modeling ecosystem disturbance and biodiversity.
