Programa ToT ne’e nu’udar kolaborasaun entre Fakuldade Enjeñaria, Siénsia no Teknolojia (Sigla Portuges FECT), ho United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Green Climate Fund (GCF) no Autoridade Nacional Designada (AND, I.P.), nu’udar parte ida atu 𝐇𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐒𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐚 𝐧𝐨 𝐇𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐳𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐛𝐚 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐚 𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐫𝐨-𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐥ó𝐣𝐢𝐤𝐮 𝐢𝐡𝐚 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐫-𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞.

The Faculty of Engineering, Science and Technology (Portuguese acronym: FECT)'s His Excellency the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Science and Technology, Professor Adalfredo G. da Silva Ximenes and Project Manager UNEP, held a closing ceremony training activity entitled Training of Trainers (ToT) "𝑪𝒍𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑹𝒊𝒔𝒌 𝑴𝒐𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒋𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑼𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑪𝑴𝑰𝑷𝟔" held at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Engineering, Hera, Díli (19/12).
In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Science and Technology, Professor Adalfredo G. da Silva Ximenes, expressed his appreciation and congratulations to all the participants who successfully completed the training program. He emphasized the importance of learning from international experts in the current digital era as a strategic effort to strengthen academic and institutional capacity.

Meanwhile, UNEP Project Manager, Sr. Shobari G. Nunes, in his speech underlined that the ToT training on Climate Risk Modeling and Projection has a very important strategic value for Timor-Leste, especially in supporting development planning based on climate risk.
"𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐫-𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞, 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐝. Furthermore, Mr. Shobari hopes that UNTL can produce concrete results from this activity, including the preparation of a scientific book containing the results of climate risk modeling and projection, which could then be submitted to relevant ministries as a reference for public policy formulation.
“𝐖𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐋 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞 𝐚 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐛𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲, 𝐬𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐲,” he added.
The training was conducted over a three-week period, from 1 to 19 December 2025, through a full-day intensive training scheme delivered directly by an international expert, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗼 𝗞𝗼𝗯𝗮𝘆𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗝𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗻, who shared his expertise and practical experience in climate risk modeling and projection based on 𝗖𝗠𝗜𝗣𝟲 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮.
This Training of Trainers (ToT) program was a collaborative initiative between the Faculty of Engineering, Science and Technology (Portuguese acronym: FECT), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Green Climate Fund (GCF), and the National Designated Authority (AND, I.P.), as part of the 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐇𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐨-𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐚𝐳𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐫-𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞.
The closing ceremony was attended by members of the Faculty of Engineering Board, academic staff, training participants, and students of the Faculty of Engineering, UNTL.
