All Souls' Day preparation.
It's a culture that we have, we always gather on November 2 to celebrate All Souls' Day, this celebration makes us remember how many unforgettable memories we have with the dead families.
Uma Adapt is our home that we use to sit and talk to the dead families.

The new generations of Knua Banioli are now reconstructing our Uma Adat.
This is a part of the preparation before the celebration.

Every year we will conduct two celebrations which are Sau Hare and Sau Batar (will introduce in the next post).

This month we are preparing to celebrate Sau Hare which means all the Banioli family will gather to give thanks for the seeds and life that they have.

Banioli Family Gathering.....

It's almost five months since our grandfather left us... there is no happier face in our grandma.. but then her Sons decided to let her visit her children and grandchildren in Dili😍
Today's family gathering is not the same as before, no more calling like " Hey grandpa you need to sit here close to your doben, the picture looks bad... Grandpa needs to smile first"... How our grandpa responded: He would say: "auuooohhh, ba'inka aubuana sala oli ma'a lo ne eke oioin oro nani" then we would laugh together..😅

Our Grandma is so excited to see her grandchildren 😍, she said: my grandchildren are good listeners, you need to teach your parents how to be good listeners like you, every time I try to tell my stories they always ask me so many questions till I lose where should I start and end the stories, they are so annoying.." we look at our parents and laugh at them 😅😅😂 Like " Auoohhh Araska... SUAR".. 😅😂

Thanks Grandpa for your leadership and love😍, we are here and still miss you, Grandpa, we will take care of your wife as you did when you were here... We will not let her alone and be sad 😍

WPLN Leadership Program 2022-23 in USA | Fully Funded

Duration: The WPLN Fellowship is eight months long, from September 1, 2022 - to April 30, 2023. Washington D.C. over Labor Day weekend, September 3-5.
