YOUTH ARE THE SURVIVAL OF THE NATION
Today, our youth are recognized as a powerful creative and constructive force of the country. Tajikistan, from a demographic perspective, is experiencing steady growth, and more than half of its population—its main driving force—consists of young people. Naturally, without the active participation of such a powerful group, economic, social, and political development would be impossible. The role of youth in modern society is increasing due to the growing dependence on innovation. The innovative nature of contemporary social development requires youth to participate not merely as learners, but as full partners and even leaders in productive and social spheres. It is the intellect and creativity of young people that often lead to scientific discoveries, the emergence of socio-economic initiatives, and the introduction of technical improvements and fresh ideas.
Young people act as a source of competitive advantages. Energy, creativity, and innovation are the engines of progress and development. Therefore, supporting youth initiatives and fostering intergenerational cooperation are essential for achieving common goals and sustainable societal development. Youth are not only the future but also the present of society, and their energy, ideas, and creativity can bring about innovation and meaningful change. Thanks to the development of information technologies and the Internet, young people now have access to vast informational and educational resources. This enables them to acquire new knowledge, develop their skills, and engage in various fields.
Youth are a force capable of transforming the world. Their enthusiasm, beliefs, and readiness can lead to positive changes in society. They can contribute to economic growth, science, culture, and politics, as well as to solving social problems and creating new values. However, for young people to fully realize their potential and actively participate in public life, it is essential to provide favorable conditions for their development. This includes accessible education, support and encouragement for young entrepreneurs, youth participation in decision-making and policy-making, and opportunities for self-realization and talent development. Youth have a significant impact on politics and the economy.
First, young people are the driving force behind political change. They often actively participate in political movements, using social networks and other communication tools to mobilize and organize protests, which can influence the political situation in a country. Second, young entrepreneurs play an important role in the economy. They create startups, establish innovative companies, and develop new technologies. In addition, youth actively participate in the digitalization of society. They develop applications that make our lives easier and more comfortable. Young programmers and engineers create technologies that help solve global challenges such as environmental issues and medical problems. Youth play a crucial role in technological progress by generating new ideas and implementing them across various sectors of society.
It is the enthusiasm of youth that makes technological progress so rapid and dynamic. As the “future of the nation,” youth occupy an important place in social relations and in the production of both material and spiritual values. Their position in society and the level of their participation in shaping the social environment depend both on state policies and on their own active life stance. On the one hand, youth design and build their own future, and therefore must take into account the experience of previous generations and avoid mistakes. On the other hand, society and the state must consider how to rediscover youth as subjects of history, as a key factor of transformation, and as a social value.
The effective implementation of state youth policy has been a priority of the Government of Tajikistan since the early days of independence. The attention of the Leader of the Nation toward youth continues to grow. Educational institutions across the country are provided with favorable conditions for learning. Young people have opportunities to study both domestically and abroad. As emphasized by the Leader of the Nation during the opening of the National Testing Center: “We are creating all necessary conditions for training the future personnel of our country and are taking all measures to select truly knowledgeable and promising young people.” In this regard, the Government of Tajikistan has made the introduction of modern educational standards, the training of highly qualified specialists, and meeting the demands of the labor market key priorities, mobilizing all available resources to achieve these goals.
The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, considers youth policy as one of the main pillars of state policy. He consistently emphasizes that youth are an active and dynamic force, the creative power of society. Proper upbringing and guidance of youth are sacred responsibilities of all members of society. Youth are the builders of the homeland, the owners of the future of independent Tajikistan, and a reliable support of the state. Therefore, the responsibility of youth in achieving national goals continues to grow. We must strive to understand that the future of the country depends on us.
In our country, youth issues and state youth policy have gained a special place among strategic priorities and national security concerns. This reflects the special attention and care of the country’s leadership toward youth policy. The President of Tajikistan considers youth a great force, emphasizing that they should devote their energy to the prosperity of the homeland and the enhancement of national prestige. The future of Tajikistan and its position among developed nations depend on the cultural level, knowledge, skills, and dedication of its youth.
Youth are regarded as the successors of the nation’s rich history and culture, a source of major initiatives, a generator of new ideas, flag-bearers of the nation, creators of the present and future, defenders of national unity, protectors of independence, and builders of a modern democratic and secular state. In today’s rapidly changing world, marked by cultural interaction and clashes of traditions and beliefs, youth carry great responsibility.
The process of building a democratic, law-based society cannot be imagined without the active participation of youth. Today, this very force is capable of overcoming existing challenges based on the wisdom of previous generations, and history has entrusted this responsibility primarily to them. As the Head of State emphasizes: “The era of independence requires educated, talented, capable, patriotic, and nationally conscious youth.” Such young people, through their initiatives, can play a constructive role in the development of key sectors of the country. It is evident that public participation, including that of youth, in governance is one of the essential conditions of a democratic state.
Continuous attention and support from the Government toward the implementation of youth policy contribute to the upbringing of a generation that respects the law, values national traditions, possesses a strong sense of responsibility and patriotism, and actively participates in public administration. With confidence, it can be stated that educated, conscious, and patriotic youth will make full use of their rights and opportunities and will significantly contribute to the development and prosperity of our beloved homeland, Tajikistan.
