December 3 was a significant day, not only because the International Day of Persons with Disabilities was widely celebrated, but also because the first conference of the Association of Social Work Schools of the Samarkand region was held.
The Caritas Germany in Tajikistan’s team headed by the country representative Parvina Tadjibaeva jointly with its partners from Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan visited Samarkand city to congratulate their partners in Uzbekistan in person.
It was a pleasure to see dignitaries in the presidium and among guests who honored the event, and highlighted the importance of the work of the Association on professionalization of social work with a special focus on improving social services for vulnerable populations, including persons with disabilities, elderly people, orphans, etc.
The event concluded with the signing of an MoU between the head of the newly established Association of Social Work Schools and the Child Rights Ombudsperson that outlines the willingness of the parties to boost cooperation in favor of vulnerable people through applying global best practices.
On the following day, December 4, 2021, Parvina Tadjibaeva together with partners inaugurated the office of the Association of Social Work Schools of the Samarkand region located at the building of Samarkand Regional Branch of the National Center for Social Adaptation of Children.
This achievement was made possible thanks to the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) for funding the regional project in the field of social work.
