Sometimes, actions speak louder than words!

"เกรงใจ" (Greng jai) is commonly used to express concern, caution, or consideration for others' feelings or outcomes.

Examples:

1️⃣ She decided not to confront her friend about the issue out of เกรงใจ for their friendship.

2️⃣ He often hesitated to express his opinions openly, out of เกรงใจ for offending others.

3️⃣ The employee was always punctual to work, out of เกรงใจ for being reprimanded by the boss.

4️⃣ They avoided discussing sensitive topics during family gatherings, out of เกรงใจ for causing arguments.

Starting with the basics, Thai greetings are different from English in that they reflect the time of day and the relative social status of the speakers. # # # Greetings:

- **Sawatdee khrap/kha** (สวัสดีครับ/ค่ะ) - "Hello" (khrap for male speakers, kha for females)
- **Sabai dee mai khrap/kha** (สบายดีไหมครับ/ค่ะ) - "How are you?"
- **Chai khrap/kha** (ใช่ครับ/ค่ะ) - "Yes."
- **Mai khrap/kha** (ไม่ครับ/ค่ะ) - "No."
- **Khob khun khrap/kha** (ขอบคุณครับ/ค่ะ) - "Thank you."
