Today we worked on phonics and blending sounds. 🔔

This is early reading steps and kids really love to move the letters and make the sounds. 🔤

When words are broken down into individual sounds, kids can easily see the different sounds and start to spell and make their own words 🤩

Here you can see the lovely Teia learning about “tall” and “short” letters. 🔠🔤

We look for the differences in letter sizes to help us with writing and staying on the lines. ✍️

This way, children can become more independent when writing letters, not simply copying or tracing. ✏️

Here at Big Fish English we believe that learning should be fun!

Playing games like Dobble increases kids observation skills & working memory.

It’s also a great way to learn some new vocabulary and practice focusing attention.

Kids have fun, whilst learning self control and concentration.

Tracing letters is a great way to develop kids fine motor skills.

We start by tracing the letters with our fingers, in the air & on the paper. Then we learn to hold the pencil correctly and try our best to keep on the lines!

Here we are learning the names of common vegetables, and practicing the phonetic sounds.
