Owner, International School of Phuket

The International School of Phuket (ISP) is an established Cambridge International School founded in 2008 with a long tradition of bringing education and care to all the children who walk through our gates. One of the few accredited Cambridge International Schools in Phuket and the only one in Rawai, our school is immensely proud to provide the academic structure that Cambridge International accreditation requires. This academic structure sits within a 16000m2 (1.6 hectare, 4 acres, 10 rai) nature-inspired campus where children can feel safe and enjoy the many different areas dedicated to play, gardening, relaxing, and exercise. The team of teachers and support staff at ISP are dedicated and well-qualified educators who are passionate about providing the absolute best learning environment to all our pupils. The school is located in the south of Phuket in one of the most family-friendly areas of the island. The most beautiful beaches in Phuket can be found here including Nai Harn, which is considered to be the best beach in Phuket and is less than 10 minutes away, but also Ao Sane with the most amazing coral reefs and lots of smaller, wild coves and wonderful viewpoints. The school is within 5 minutes of Chalong Pier and Rawai beach where you can take a speedboat or longtail to the surrounding islands to visit or dive. Along with the beautiful nature and sporty atmosphere of the area, there are many family activities, swimming pools, kids parks, and great healthy dining options as well as major commercial outlets like Makro, Lotus hypermarket, and Villa Market, all within 5 minutes of the school’s location. Beyond our academic standards, the school has a real vocation to promote sustainability and we use and will continue to develop the school grounds and gardens to further this cause and inspire our students to become ambassadors for a responsible future. I look forward to welcoming you and your family to the International School of Phuket.

Education continues to change, and so does what students need to learn.

This year at ISP, we have introduced several changes to the curriculum, with a greater emphasis on practical skills, regular reading and analysis, critical thinking, research and the ability to consider different perspectives and form independent judgements.

These updates highlight some of the developments taking shape in everyday learning at ISP.

World Turtle Day 🐢💚

Today, we celebrate World Turtle Day, observed each year on 23 May to raise awareness about turtles, their habitats and the challenges they face in the wild.

At ISP, the sea turtle is our school mascot, symbolising wisdom, resilience and a strong connection with nature. As part of their Eco lessons, students have been learning about sea turtles, the threats they face, and how we can help protect them.

To mark the occasion, a very special guest visited our younger Primary students — a sea turtle! 🐢 Students shared their knowledge, asked questions and celebrated with a fun Turtle Dance together.

This week, we welcomed the Bangkok Hospital Siriroj team to ISP for student health screenings.

Students had the opportunity to complete a range of routine health checks directly at school, including a physical examination, hearing and eye tests, a basic dental check-up, and height and weight measurements.

Health screenings can help identify potential concerns at an early stage and provide families with valuable information about their children’s wellbeing. Each participating student will receive an individual health report with personalised recommendations.

We would like to thank the Bangkok Hospital Siriroj team for their professional care and support throughout the programme. 💙

Congratulations to our Year 6 and Year 9 students on completing their Cambridge Checkpoint exams 🎓

Over the past two weeks, they have been sitting exams in Mathematics, English and Science, showing focus, resilience and dedication throughout.

Cambridge Checkpoint is an international assessment set and marked by Cambridge, providing an external benchmark of students’ performance and progress. It helps identify strengths and areas for development, supporting the next stage of their learning journey.

We believe this is an important milestone, and the whole school came together to celebrate their achievement. Students and teachers lined the corridors to applaud and support them as they walked through, surrounded by encouragement and congratulations.

We are proud of your efforts and the progress you have made. Wishing you continued success and confidence in the next stage of your learning ✨

This year, for Earth Day, our students took the lead by sharing their own ideas on how we can care for our planet 🌍

They prepared presentations and confidently shared their ideas in their classes, as well as during a special assembly, inspiring others with their creativity and awareness.

Their suggestions included simple but meaningful actions: switching off electricity when it’s not needed, placing reminder signs around school, planting more greenery, and even designing wildlife bridges to help animals cross roads safely. Some spoke about innovative ideas like solar ovens, reducing waste in everyday life, and machines that plant new trees immediately after others are cut down — and many more thoughtful solutions.

It’s inspiring to see how aware and proactive young minds can be when it comes to protecting the environment.

Earth Day, celebrated every year on 22 April, is a global event dedicated to raising awareness about environmental issues and encouraging action to protect our planet. It began in 1970 and has since grown into a worldwide movement, bringing together millions of people who care about sustainability, conservation, and the future of life on Earth.

At ISP, it’s not just about one day — it’s about building habits, values, and responsibility for a more sustainable future 💚

Celebrating Book Day at ISP International School 📚

Recently, our school celebrated Book Day — a special day dedicated to books, imagination, creativity, and the joy of reading.

Students arrived dressed as their favourite book characters, turning the campus into a colourful mix of classic literary heroes and modern fictional favourites. They also brought along their favourite books to share with classmates throughout the day.

During lessons, students spent time reading in class, discussing favourite stories, and reflecting on why reading remains such an important part of learning, creativity, empathy, and communication.

To make the celebration even more memorable and fun, students were also visited by Ivan the gorilla from The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate. Ivan appeared in classrooms during the day, joined lessons alongside the students, and brought plenty of excitement and laughter to the celebration.

One of the highlights of the day was the costume parade held during the lunch assembly, where students proudly showed their creative outfits and favourite characters to the whole school community.

Book Day was not only a fun celebration, but also a reminder of how books help children discover new ideas, perspectives, and worlds beyond their everyday experience. 📖
