Students from PSDS joined the 8th South-East Asia Multi-Stakeholder Forum at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok. Student representatives shared their experiences with SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth and SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being.

The event runs from 12 to 13 November 2024

PSDS extends heartfelt congratulations to Associate Professor Dr. Samchai Srisan on receiving the “Outstanding Research Award in Social Sciences, Thammasat University, 2024" for his work "Let’s Finish it in Our Generation: Thai Youth Movements in Contemporary Socio-political Contexts."

Bangkok Rooftop Farming 🌱

Master’s students recently explored urban farming at Bangkok Rooftop Farming, Center One Shopping Mall. Guided by founders, they learned about sustainable food systems and urban agriculture models.

Prayukwong, Founder, and Mr. Thanakorn Jearakamolchuenn, Manager, students explored urban farming and learned about food systems, from production to waste recycling, managed by Bangkok Rooftop Farming Co., a social enterprise.

On 26 October 2024, Dr Kanokwara led students from the Social Innovation for Development course on a field study at the Ban Pak Khlong Community Enterprise in Chonburi. The objective was to deepen students' understanding of creating innovations that address social issues and contribute to sustainable development. Through practical activities—such as creating cha-khram cake and salad, producing tie-dye fabrics, and crafting skin scrubs from spirulina algae—students gained hands-on experience.

This instructional approach, which emphasises the development of knowledge and diverse experiences in the classroom and through fieldwork, equips students to analyse economic, social, and environmental challenges. It also trains them to develop innovative solutions to address social problems.
