A message from our Head of School

Welcome to the 2026–2027 academic year at RIS Phuket.

This year is a milestone. We open our fourth year in Early Years, third in Elementary, second in Middle School — and this year we begin our first High School class with Grade 9. Opening a High School is a serious undertaking, and it reflects our commitment to this community: to see our students through, and to build a school that grows with the children in it.

Last year, every subject grew faster than the national norm, with Math, Science and Reading all posting double-digit achievement gains. This year brings a Fabrication Lab, an Eco-Lab, a new Chinese Pavilion, a dedicated Writing class, and new sports teams.

Thank you for trusting us with your children. Our door is always open.

✨ Congratulations to Anya Anyarin Kuybumrung! 🏆💛

We are incredibly proud to congratulate Anya Anyarin Kuybumrung on winning the Gold Award (1st Place) in the Classical Dance / Contemporary Dance – Solo (Age 8–9) category at the 2026 Seoul International Korea Music & Talent Competition.

🏅 Gold Award – 1st Place
🎭 Classical Dance / Contemporary Dance (Solo)
👧 Age Group: 8–9 Years

The competition was held on 4 July 2026 at the 100 Years Puey Learning Park, Thammasat University (Rangsit Campus), Thailand.

🌟 Even more exciting, Anya has been selected to advance to the Grand Final, which will take place on 25 October 2026 in Seoul, South Korea.

Your passion, dedication, and remarkable talent have brought you this wonderful achievement. We wish you the very best as you represent your talent on the international stage.

Help Us Build the RISPhuket Eco-Lab

As we prepare the Eco-Lab for the new school year, we're inviting parents, local residents and businesses to support the project through the donation of unwanted items.

The Eco-Lab is being developed around the principles of:

♻️ Reuse
🔨 Repurpose
💡 Reimagine
🌱 Reduce Waste

Many everyday items can become valuable learning resources and help students explore creativity, innovation and sustainability.

Over the coming weeks we'll be sharing a list of materials we're seeking, but if you have unused items that may be suitable, we'd love to hear from you.
Together, we can create a space that demonstrates how waste can become opportunity.

Meet the RIS Phuket Eco-Lab Facilitator: Josh O'Neill

We're excited to welcome Josh O'Neill as the facilitator of the new RIS Phuket Eco-Lab.Josh brings extensive experience in environmental education, sustainability initiatives and community engagement. As the founder of environmental projects that have engaged thousands of volunteers across Thailand, he is passionate about helping young people become active participants in creating a more sustainable future.
Through the Eco-Lab, Josh will work with students to explore environmental challenges, develop practical solutions, and create projects that make a meaningful impact both within RIS Phuket and beyond.

"The best way to learn about sustainability is by doing. The Eco-Lab will provide students with opportunities to experiment, create, collaborate and lead positive change."

We look forward to sharing this exciting journey with our school community.
