🌏🍽️ CRS ร่วมถ่ายทอดมุมมอง “Food and Faith” ในโครงการนานาชาติ EAT 2026

วันที่ 25 สิงหาคม 2569 อาจารย์ ดร.พิบูลย์ ชุมพลไพศาล อาจารย์ประจำวิทยาลัยศาสนศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ได้รับเชิญเป็นวิทยากรในโครงการ EAT 2026 บรรยายในหัวข้อ “Food and Faith” แก่นักศึกษาจากประเทศไทย ญี่ปุ่น และสาธารณรัฐเกาหลี

การบรรยายชวนผู้เข้าร่วมเรียนรู้ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างศาสนา ความเชื่อ และวัฒนธรรมอาหารในสังคมไทย ผ่านตัวอย่างจากหลากหลายศาสนาและวัฒนธรรม ทั้งพุทธศาสนา ศาสนาอิสลาม ศาสนาคริสต์ และวัฒนธรรมจีน ตลอดจนความหมายเชิงสัญลักษณ์ที่สะท้อนผ่านอาหารและขนมไทย เช่น ทองหยดและทองหยิบ พร้อมเชื่อมโยงให้เห็นว่า ความหลากหลายทางศาสนามีส่วนกำหนดวิถีการบริโภค การอยู่ร่วมกัน และจริยธรรมด้านอาหารในสังคมพหุวัฒนธรรมอย่างไร

โครงการ EAT 2026 จัดโดยกองวิเทศสัมพันธ์ มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล ร่วมกับ Fukuoka Women’s University ประเทศญี่ปุ่น และ Ewha Womans University สาธารณรัฐเกาหลี ระหว่างวันที่ 23–29 สิงหาคม 2569 มีนักศึกษาจากทั้งสามมหาวิทยาลัยเข้าร่วมประมาณ 30 คน

โครงการมุ่งใช้ “อาหาร” เป็นพื้นที่แห่งการเรียนรู้ข้ามวัฒนธรรม เพื่อส่งเสริมความเข้าใจในความหลากหลาย การยอมรับความแตกต่างและการมีส่วนร่วมในสังคม (Social Inclusion) ตลอดจนการสร้างสรรค์นวัตกรรม ผ่านการบรรยายเชิงวิชาการ การฝึกปฏิบัติ (Hands-on Workshops) และการศึกษาดูงานในพื้นที่จริง (Field Visits)

การมีส่วนร่วมในครั้งนี้สะท้อนบทบาทของวิทยาลัยศาสนศึกษาในการนำองค์ความรู้ด้านศาสนามาเชื่อมโยงกับประเด็นร่วมสมัย และสร้างพื้นที่การเรียนรู้ระหว่างนักศึกษาจากหลากหลายวัฒนธรรม

🌏🍽️ CRS Shares Perspectives on "Food and Faith" in the EAT 2026 International Program

On August 25, 2026, Dr. Pibul Chumphonpaisan, a lecturer at the College of Religious Studies, Mahidol University, was invited as a guest speaker for the EAT 2026 program, delivering a lecture on the topic "Food and Faith" to students from Thailand, Japan, and the Republic of Korea.

The lecture invited participants to explore the relationship between religion, belief, and food culture in Thai society through examples from various religions and traditions, including Buddhism, Islam, Christianity, and Chinese culture. It also highlighted the symbolic meanings reflected in Thai food and desserts, such as Thong Yod and Thong Yib, while connecting how religious diversity shapes consumption patterns, peaceful coexistence, and food ethics in a multicultural society.

The EAT 2026 program is organized by the International Relations Division of Mahidol University, in collaboration with Fukuoka Women's University, Japan, and Ewha Womans University, Republic of Korea, running from August 23–29, 2026, with approximately 30 students participating from the three universities.

The program aims to use "food" as a space for cross-cultural learning to promote understanding of diversity, acceptance of differences, and social inclusion, as well as fostering innovation through academic lectures, hands-on workshops, and field visits.

This participation reflects the College of Religious Studies' role in bridging religious knowledge with contemporary issues and creating learning spaces for students from diverse cultural backgrounds.

✨The College of Religious Studies, Mahidol University, Hosts International Academic Seminar in Collaboration with the Thailand Foundation

On August 21 2026 (Friday) 02:00 PM. – 03:00 PM. (Thailand Time) The College of Religious Studies (CRS), Mahidol University, in collaboration with the Thailand Foundation, organized an international academic seminar titled
" Navigating Polarization: Conflict, Violence, and the Architecture of Peace in Bangladesh..
This event was held as part of the MU-CRS Seminar: Plural Perspectives in Religious Studies series via the Zoom online platform.
The college was honored to welcome Venerable Dr. Lablu Barua (Thirasattho Bhikkhu). as the guest speaker. The session was formally opened and moderated by Dr. Sanjoy Barua Chowdhury Lecturer a faculty member of the College of Religious Studies.

The seminar garnered significant interest, with attendance figures as follows:

Facebook Live: 444 viewers
This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically:
SDG 4 (Quality Education): By promoting access to international knowledge and fostering lifelong learning.

Dr. Rachelle Saruya Presents at the International Symposium on Buddhist Studies

On August 13, 2026, Dr. Rachelle Saruya, Foreign Expert at the College of Religious Studies, Mahidol University, participated in the International Symposium on Buddhist Studies, “Monastic and Lay Buddhist Lives: Exploration in Buddhist Thought and Practice in the Late Modern World.”

The symposium, held on August 12–13, 2026 at Chiang Mai University, brought together scholars from universities and research institutions across Asia, Europe, Australia, and North America to examine contemporary Buddhist thought and practice, particularly the relationships between monastic and lay Buddhist communities.

Dr. Saruya presented her research, “Ordination and Discipline in the Contemporary Myanmar Buddhist Nun-making Process,” in Session IV, “Buddhist Nuns Across Regions,” which explored the experiences, institutional status, and contemporary challenges of Buddhist nuns across different Buddhist traditions and regions.

Dr. Francesco Bianchini Participates in the 4th Academic Conference on Museum and Heritage Studies

On August 17, 2026, Dr. Francesco Bianchini, lecturer at the College of Religious Studies, Mahidol University, participated in the 4th Academic Conference on Museum and Heritage Studies, “Time, Place, and Context: Multiple Perspectives in Museum, Heritage, and Art,” organized by the Thammasat Museum of Anthropology, Thammasat University.

The conference brought together scholars and professionals working in museum, heritage, and art studies, with Dr. Stephen A. Murphy from SOAS University of London as a keynote speaker. Among the presentations, Theint Theint Aung from the Thammasat Museum of Anthropology discussed approaches to exhibiting Buddhist objects in ways that respect their original cultural and religious contexts.

The conference provided an opportunity for Dr. Bianchini to attend discussions and exchange perspectives with scholars from Thammasat University and SEAMEO SPAFA on Buddhist heritage, decolonisation, and the ways museums interpret and present religious objects and cultural heritage.
