The delegation also visited Phutthamonthon Isan, one of the major Buddhist landmarks and eco-tourism destinations in the Northeast of Thailand. Constructed to commemorate the 84th Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX), the site is modelled after the original Phutthamonthon in Nakhon Pathom. Its centrepiece is a magnificent golden Buddha image in the Walking Buddha posture (Pang Leela), symbolising peace, wisdom, and compassionate movement towards humanity.
The inspection visit reflected the ongoing commitment of the Sangha leadership to strengthening Buddhist institutions, preserving meditation traditions, and supporting the sustainable development of Buddhist communities throughout the region.
