Seminar 2 & 6 of the Ph.D. EPD Seminar Courses

We are pleased to share the successful completion of the Ph.D. EPD Seminar: Mock Proposal Presentation (Seminar 2 & 6), held on Tuesday, April 21st, at the School of Liberal Arts, Mae Fah Luang University.

The session featured two insightful presentations by our PhD candidates:
1. Developing an Argumentative Model to Elevate Reasoning Skills in EFL Discussion for Higher Education (Seminar 2) by RUNGAROON INJAI
2. A Case Study of Successful English Language Users among Myanmar Ethnic Students in an English-Medium Instruction Program at a Thai University (Seminar 6) by JAW SENG DIN AUNG

The event provided a valuable platform for academic exchange, where participants engaged in thoughtful discussions and offered constructive feedback to support the presenters in refining their research proposals. The active participation of lecturers and fellow PhD students contributed greatly to the success and richness of the seminar.

Virtual Visiting Lecturer

On April 16, 2026, Asst.Prof.Dr. Phoranee Kaewbovorn, a lecturer in the English for Professional Development Program at the School of Liberal Arts, served as a visiting lecturer for the course Language and Media for 106 Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting students from the Department of Broadcast Communication at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
Her virtual lecture, titled “Special Session: Social Media Paradigm,” was delivered from 18:00 to 20:00. MFU

AI as Your Research Partner: Enhancing Research Skills through Innovation

On March 8, 2026, the English for Professional Development (EPD) program hosted an interactive workshop titled “AI as Your Research Partner” at Room 508, E4 Building. The event was organized as part of the program’s ongoing efforts to enhance EPD students’ academic and professional skills.

The workshop was led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Srisawasdi from the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University. It was also open to academic staff from the School of Liberal Arts who were interested in exploring the role of artificial intelligence in research.

Throughout the session, participants gained practical insights into effective prompt generation and discovered how AI can support the research process. Emphasis was also placed on the ethical use of AI, highlighting how it can be utilized responsibly without compromising academic integrity.

This workshop reflects the EPD program’s commitment to equipping learners and educators with essential digital skills for the modern academic landscape.
