🛑🤝 Learning Activity: “Stop Bullying — It Starts with Us”
🍎✨ “An apple may look perfect on the outside… but that does not mean it is not bruised inside.”
💬 Some words may seem like harmless jokes to the person saying them. Sometimes, everyone appears to be laughing—and the child being teased may even smile along. 😊
But a smile does not always mean that a child is not hurting. 💔
🍎 Through our “Bruised Apple” activity, students discovered an important lesson. The apple still looked beautiful and normal on the outside, but when its skin was peeled away, bruises caused by repeated impacts were revealed.
Our feelings can be the same. 🫶
😔 Repeated teasing, name-calling, excluding someone from a group, or laughing at another person can leave invisible bruises in their heart—even when they appear perfectly fine.
This activity went beyond simply teaching children what bullying means. 📚✨ It helped them understand, in a clear and meaningful way, that:
💭 Words have power, so we must think before we speak.
🛑 We must stop immediately when someone says they do not like it.
🤝 We should never laugh along, join in, or leave a friend to face bullying alone.
🚶♀️🙋 When bullying happens, remember:
“Say Stop — Walk Away — Tell an Adult.”
🙏 If we hurt someone, we must take responsibility, apologise sincerely, and not repeat the behaviour.
❌ A joke is no longer funny when someone is being hurt.
🏫💛 A safe classroom does not begin only when a problem occurs. It begins by teaching children empathy, respect, kindness, and the courage to do what is right.
🌱 Today, our students did not simply learn about bullying. They learned how to become caring friends, responsible individuals, and members of a community that chooses kindness over harm. 🤎
🫶✨ A safe and happy classroom starts with every one of us.
