Advanced Rig Move simulator training. The next course is Sept 22-25. The course is for experienced Barge Masters, Barge Engineers, Barge Supervisors, and existing Rig Movers who want to improve on their rig moving skills. The simulator exercises can be adjusted to various levels of difficulty depending on a student's experience.

Our MOSEP Rig Move simulator course (Marine Operations of Self Elevating Platforms) is the prerequisite course to Advanced Rig Move. Depending on your level of experience you may not have to attend the MOSEP course before the Advanced Rig Move course. Contact us for details.

The Advanced Rig Move Simulator course will mostly consist of simulator exercises (4 days). There will be 1 to 2 hours of theory for the first 3 days. The theory covers both Rig Move Operations and Tow Vessel Operations. Several practical simulations will be carried out throughout the course, enabling the student to experience and practice in real time, issues that can occur during rig move operations. Simulation exercises will be performed for Jack-up rigs utilizing multiple tugs and anchor operations.

Barge Supervisor license. There are seats available for the next course for Barge Supervisor beginning on August 17th. A Flag-state Barge Supervisor license will enable you to work as a Barge Supervisor, Barge Master, Barge Engineer, or Marine Section Leader, on Jack-up rigs or anchored Semi-Submersible rigs. To register for training go the the Seaway Academy website. Seaway Academy Certificates are transferrable to a CoC license for multiple Flag-states who issue CoC licenses for MOU.

The Barge Supervisor position on an oil rig is also referred to, depending on the Company as; Barge Captain, Barge Master, Barge Engineer, or Marine Section Leader. The CoC license issued from the Flag-state administrations is referred to as Barge Supervisor.

Due to several requests from clients, we are pleased to announce that in addition to classroom training we will also be providing the MOSEP course as Virtual Online Training beginning in August 2025. Our course dates for Virtual Online training will be flexible to meet the clients schedule, depending on the availability of our instructor.
