🛎 Faculty of Medicine, PSU Welcomed Delegates from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom

On July 22, 2026, the Faculty of Medicine, Prince of Songkla University (PSUMed), led by Assoc. Prof. Nawamin Pinpathomrat, M.D., DPhil, Assistant Dean to International Affairs, togethwe with Faculty members, warmly welcomed Professor Steven Edwards, B.Sc., Ph.D., from the Institute of Infection, Veterinary & Ecological Sciences, Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, and Dr. Raheela Awais, Ph.D., SFHEA, from the School of Biosciences, University of Liverpool, UK.

The visit provided an opportunity for both institutions to further strengthen academic and research collaboration through a round-table discussion. Key topics included postgraduate (Master's and Ph.D.) student exchange, short-term research internships, and the future establishment of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between two institutions.

During the visit, the delegation also toured the Biological Activity Testing Center (BioAct) and the Infectious Disease and Emerging & Re-emerging Pathogen Research Laboratory to explore PSUMed's research facilities and discuss future opportunities for collaborative research and student exchange.

Today (July 23, 2026), the Office of International Affairs hosted ‘Meet & Greet’ Lunch to encourage new friendships. Laughter, great food, and new friendships filled the room as international students came together with MEDPSU students and executives to share cultures and enjoyable memories.

🇨🇴🇹🇭 On July 20, 2026, the Faculty of Medicine, led by Assoc. Prof. Sumidtra Prathep, MD (Vice Dean for Global Affairs and Corporate Communications) welcomed a delegation from the Republic of Colombia as part of the project, "Capacity Building in Regulatory Framework and Infrastructure for Health Tourism Between Colombia and Thailand."

The delegates visited hospital facilities at Songklanagarind Vejchavivat Hospital, Genomic Medicine Center, Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Excellence Center PSU, and Southern Medical Rehabilitation Center, featuring knowledge-sharing sessions led by MEDPSU experts.

The program provides a valuable platform for knowledge exchange on regulatory frameworks, infrastructure, and best practices that support the sustainable development of health tourism.

The technical visit followed a series of online workshops previously organized as part of the project, visualizing how the regulatory framework presented during the online workshop is implemented in practical experiences.

🛎 Faculty of Medicine, PSU Welcomes Delegation from U.S. Embassy and Consulate in Thailand

On July 17, 2026, the Faculty of Medicine, PSU, led by Assoc. Prof. Sumidtra Prathep, M.D., Vice Dean for Global Affairs and Corporate Communications, together with Withoo Phrueksanan M.D., LL.M., Head of the Forensic Medicine Division, Department of Pathology, warmly welcomed the delegation from U.S. Embassy and Consulate in Thailand during their official visit to the Faculty of Medicine and Songklanagarind Hospital.

This visit provided an important opportunity to strengthen the collaboration of both institutions and exchange experiences in disaster preparedness and crisis management, particularly Songklanagarind Hospital's response during the 2025 big floods in Southern Thailand.

During the visit, the delegation also visited to Trauma and Emergency Center, Outpatient Clinics, and the Department of Pathology, including the Autopsy Facilities.

🇹🇭 🇭🇰 Faculty of Medicine, PSU Welcomes Students and Staff from The Chinese University of Hong Kong

👩🏻‍🏫 From July 6-8, 2026, the Faculty of Medicine, PSU, through the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine in collaboration with the Department of Epidemiology, warmly welcomed a group of students and staff from The Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care, Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, for the Health Promotion Field Studies program.

👦🏻👧🏻 The program provided participants with the opportunity to learn about health promotion practices in Thailand and explore community-based health promotion in Thailand through a variety of activities, including lectures, tutorials, clinical observations, as well as site visits to community health centers, local communities, and disease control offices.

🤝🏻🌏 This visit reflects the ongoing academic partnership between The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Prince of Songkla University, fostering academic exchange and strengthening collaboration in public health education and research.
