I 'd like to share you something.
It is totally significant for everyone, but sometimes we don'​t recognize it. I was hoping that you would get some guidelines or ideas from my work life.

Over the past 10 years since 2010, I've had many work experiences, including as an engineer, owner of a Thai food shop, and owner of a fashion shop. For sure, I have much useful knowledge, logical thinking, best practices, etc. to share with you. Anyway, today I selected one topic.

Usually companies have employee performance evaluations every year, then judge them by "low performance," "meet expectations," or "exceed expectations," then increase their salaries based on the results. For me, mostly achieved meet and over expectation. Only one company gave me a low performance level. At that time, I could not accept it and was so angry with many questions in my head: "Why?" "Why?" "Why?" Of course I did work hard, complete many corrected tasks, have many responsibilities, and overload sometimes.

Thank God I didn't lose my confidence and kept my excited working style, then continued to improve myself as I had previously.

Last year I got a new job, and the time usually passed quickly. The time for evaluation should come back to me again. But this time I got above expectations. Suddenly, this situation makes me understand something.

Situation 1: I work as a supplier quality engineer who takes care of all things concerning suppliers in the case of a new project. Start with reviewing or discussing the product drawing with the designer==>teach, share with the supplier==>control, verify, give an idea to the supplier for process preparation===>Validate the output and cooperate with the customer for appearance approval. Almost everything happens at the supplier site. The project being completed without any issues means it met expectations. Otherwise, it fell below expectations. So you will never be a hero.

Situation 2: I work as an in-process quality engineer who takes care of customer claims, in-process standards, and process audits.
I lead a team to complete problem solving, then report the progress to my boss every day. Finally, customer claims totally decreased (3–4 cases per day to be without a claim in 2 months). Now you are a hero.

Do you get something from this comparing?

Yes, it is. This is an answer to the question: the right job will allow you to show your performance on focused tasks.

What is The Right boss? Please be careful; this is just my opinion. The good boss will know subordinate jobs, will take care of them and give them a suitable way, will be a guard for a while, will listen before making judgments, and will consider work load. Oh my god, I will not be a boss, 5555.

If you don't stay in the right situation, I suggest you find the right job and the right boss immediately. You must not wait a long time. Then you will be happy with your work, like I am now. Then the money will find a way to reach you soon.
