We are super proud!

Today March 30, 2026 - 30 young Karenni girls successfully graduated from the Women Study Program, a 10-months feminist learning program for displaced girls on the Thai-Myanmar border. For 19 years now the Women's Education for Advancement and Empowerment (WEAVE) and the Karenni National Women's Organization walked together to support the empowerment of these girls.

These young women walked a path shaped by courage, discipline, and hope. In a world that often tries to limit women—especially young women from marginalized and displaced communities—30 WSP students chose to learn, to grow, and to believe in their own power. That choice alone is an act of resistance. It is an act of transformation.

Today, we celebrate not just what they have achieved, but of who they are becoming—leaders, changemakers, and women who refuse to be invisible.

Go forward with pride. The world needs your voice, your vision, and your courage.
Congratulations, graduates. Your journey is just beginning.

The Art of Resilience Project | Susu Hauser Photography 20/03/2026

A powerful new chapter of collaboration unfolds ✨

WEAVE is honored to continue its partnership with the Art of Resilience Project by Susu Hauser through a new exhibition at ARTSPACE – People's Studio from May 16 to June 8, 2026 at 201 E. Davie St, Raleigh, NC, and we are super proud!

This exhibition brings to life the artistry, culture, and deeply human stories of women artisans—featuring the strength and spirit of Karen and Karenni women along the Thai–Myanmar border. Through each portrait and handcrafted piece, their resilience, identity, and creativity speak beyond borders.

More than an exhibition, this is a celebration of courage, dignity, and the enduring power of women to transform adversity into beauty and hope.

Behind every food pack is a story of strength, care, and community.

With the hovering food crisis on the Thai-Myanmar border, WEAVEwomen ECD teachers and artisans came together to prepare food packs for the refugee girls and women attending the celebration of the 2026 International Women’s Day event. What may look like simple preparation is something much deeper, providing immediate solution to food insecurity, women supporting women, sharing skills, and creating impact with their own hands.

These moments remind us that empowerment is not just a word, it is built through action, collaboration, resilience and solidarity.

This International Women’s Day, we celebrate not only the outcome, but the process, the effort, and our collaborators - WEAVE Fair Trade Co.Ltd, MADE51, Akupara Film&Photo, Imaginepeace_이매진피스_희망을 여행하는 사람들, and the women behind it all.

When Women Rise, Communities Flourish

38 years of walking alongside women who rise before dawn to weave, teach, organize, and care. This International Women's Month, we celebrate every WEAVEwoman — because when women rise, communities flourish. 🧵❤️

08/03/2026

On this 2026 International Women’s Day, we honor and celebrate the women whose lives have been dedicated to serving their children, their families, and their communities. Women who rise before dawn to weave, to teach, to organize, to care. Women who carry stories of resilience across generations. Women who, despite displacement, continue to build peace and dignity where they stand.

Today March 8, 2026 marks WEAVEwomen's 38 years of empowering women!
