AYLA 2026 participants were honoured to meet Brother Anurak Nidhibhadrabhorn of the Communal Life of Love and Unity of the Mountain People (CLUMP) Foundation, one of the key person who helped establish and develop the International Youth Training Centre (IYTC), together with Mr. Patrick Earle, Executive Director of the Diplomacy Training Program (DTP), Australia, and Ms. Guangchunliu Gangmei.

Brother Anurak encouraged participants to become leaders who serve their communities with commitment and compassion, while Patrick shared the work of DTP and inspired participants to continue promoting human rights, justice, and solidarity across Asia.

Together, their messages reminded us that leadership begins with service and grows through dialogue, collaboration, and action.

CAYLA is an international leadership formation programme for student leaders and young professionals committed to advancing peace, justice and care for creation through Catholic Social Teaching and values-based leadership.

Learning Beyond the Classroom 🌿

As part of "AYLA 2026" participants explored the International Youth Training Centre (IYTC) campus and discovered how "social enterprise, sustainable livelihoods, and holistic living" contribute to community well-being and a sustainable future for all.

From visiting the cocoa and coffee initiatives to walking through the peaceful mountain landscape, participants experienced how local wisdom, environmental stewardship, and community empowerment can work together to build more resilient and sustainable communities.

Sometimes, the most meaningful lessons are found beyond the classroom, where learning comes alive through people, nature, and lived experiences.

Day 2 AYLA 2026

Day 2 invited participants to explore social justice, inequality, power, and human rights through interactive discussions and social analysis.

By reflecting on privilege, marginalisation, and lived experiences, participants were reminded that leadership begins with empathy, dialogue, and a commitment to uphold the dignity and rights of every person.

Together, we continue learning to lead change for a more just, inclusive, and compassionate Asia.

Some journeys begin with greater opportunities, while others are shaped by barriers that often go unseen. During today's Human Rights and Social Justice session, participants explored different social identities through a social analysis lens, reflecting on how privilege, marginalisations, and systemic inequalities influence people's opportunities and lived experiences. The exercise reminded us that understanding one another's realities is the first step towards building a more inclusive, compassionate, and equitable society where the dignity of every person is respected.
