Sunlight Montessori School is located in a peaceful and scenic setting 5 km from the city center. The buildings have been specifically designed for use by small children and conform to the highest standards of safety and cleanliness. ning materials in the classroom. Healthy and nutritious meals and snacks are served, including organic vegetables grown in our own garden which is adjacent to the school. The philosophy and curriculum of Sunlight School are child centered and in tune with the personality, the level of development and the needs of each student. The program is English immersion, meaning we speak English to the children at all times, but we are also sensitive to the needs of those children who are unfamiliar with English and we help them through the transition period. As well as promoting the joy of learning we also emphasize etiquette, responsibility and social skills that develop a child’s character. Nongluck Porter is an experienced educator with a Masters degree in education management. She has had extensive experience in teaching at all levels from preschool to secondary school in both government and private institutions. She has been a practitioner of Montessori teaching methods since 2004 when she graduated with honors from the North American Montessori Center teacher training program. After teaching preschool level for 4 years at the Marian Montessori School in Oakville, Canada, she decided that this was the age level that interested her the most, particularly because it is such a crucial stage in the development of the character of a person. This eventually led her to open the Sunlight School in 2013 so that she could make full use of her experience, training and insights.
