ONE WOMAN. ONE VISION. A LEGACY THAT CHANGED EDUCATION FOREVER.

What if the best way to teach children is to first learn from them?

Born in Italy in 1870, Dr. Maria Montessori transformed the way the world understands childhood, learning and education.

Her vision was simple yet powerful: respect the child, nurture curiosity and give children the freedom to grow.

More than 150 years later, her ideas continue to inspire educators, parents and children around the world.

At Esara International School, these principles remain at the heart of learning:

Respect the Child
Freedom to Grow
Learning with Joy
Impact That Lasts

Because every child is capable, curious and full of potential.

What is one thing your child has taught you?
Share it in the comments — sometimes, our children are our greatest teachers.

What if maths could feel like a game?

With the Montessori Stamp Game, learners aren’t just solving sums — they’re building number skills, concentration and problem-solving through hands-on discovery.

Each stamp helps make abstract maths more concrete, meaningful and exciting.

Because when children touch it, build it and discover it, learning becomes something they remember.

Practising Safety, Building Confidence

Safety first! Our learners recently took part in an earthquake drill and evacuation practice, learning how to stay calm, follow instructions and move safely to the designated assembly area.

These important drills help children build confidence, develop awareness and understand what to do in an emergency — because being prepared matters.

Learn. Practise. Stay safe.

Learning grows here.

At Esara, our farm is more than a place to grow plants. It is a living Montessori environment where children learn through purposeful work, responsibility and a connection with nature.

From planting and caring for living things to harvesting and working together, every experience helps children develop independence, confidence and respect for the world around them.

Real work. Real responsibility. Real learning.

Because in Montessori, we do not simply teach children about life — we give them the opportunity to experience it.

Secondary PE | Fitness in Action

Our Secondary students took their PE learning beyond the usual activity space this week, completing their first 1,000-metre run test around the school campus as part of their current Fitness Unit.

The 1,000-metre run test forms part of our formative assessment and provides students with an opportunity to assess their cardiovascular endurance while setting a personal benchmark for their fitness development.

As this is the first time the 1,000-metre run test has been introduced, students are also setting the first Esara school records for this event, creating benchmarks for future students to challenge.

Over the coming weeks, students will continue exploring different components of fitness through practical activities and training before having the opportunity to revisit their results and reflect on their progress.

A great effort from everyone involved, and a fantastic way to turn our school environment into an active learning space!

Freedom to Grow

The right environment can transform the way a child learns.

A Montessori prepared environment is not just for younger children. It supports every stage of a child’s learning journey, from Early Years through to Secondary.

Every space is thoughtfully designed to encourage independence, confidence, curiosity and responsibility.

When children are given the right environment, they have the freedom to grow, explore, think and become themselves.
