🌏 Three Locations. Five Grade Levels. One Incredible Week of Learning Beyond the Classroom.
Last month we had the privilege of working with the students of APIS Secondary School as part of their Classroom Without Walls programs, taking learning far beyond the school gates.
Over the course of the week, students travelled across Thailand to Pranburi, Kanchanaburi, and Tarutao Island, each location offering a completely different learning environment.
From kayaking through mangrove forests in Pranburi…
To exploring the powerful WWII history of Kanchanaburi…
To studying marine ecosystems and wildlife on Tarutao Island…
Students weren’t just “doing activities”, they were engaging in programs carefully designed with the school’s curriculum in mind.
Each experience connected directly to classroom learning, with students investigating:
🌿 Marine ecosystems and coastal conservation
🦀 Wildlife observation and environmental impact
📜 Historical inquiry and reflection
🌏 Human relationships with nature and place
The goal isn’t just adventure, it’s real-world learning that builds curiosity, resilience, and deeper understanding of the world around them.
Seeing students step outside their comfort zones, ask big questions, and connect with nature and history in meaningful ways is always the most rewarding part of these programs.
A huge thank you to the students and teachers of APIS for an unforgettable week.
We’re already looking forward to the next adventure.
