This residency is open to researchers, artists, healers, environmentalists, journalists, activists—anyone with a demonstrated curiosity in climate, health, spirituality, and policy, and an openness to bring both heart and mind into exploring planetary health.

🪐 Planetary Thinking Needs a Cosmic Perspective
Planetary thinking (and ecology at large) relating to questions around Climate Change, Artificial Intelligence, species extinction, and other such global challenges, is impossible without the cosmic perspective.

Join us for a talk by philosopher Lukáš Likavčan, currently a researcher at the Antikythera program at the Berggruen Institute, on cosmic ecology, SETI, exoplanets, and Eastern philosophy — exploring how future tech like DNA-based computing might shift our view of life, intelligence, and nature itself.

📣 2nd decentralised storage in high censorship environments event

In this workshop we learn by doing: how to use decentralised storage networks IPFS/Filecoin to safeguard critical evidence. We will be guided by to get hands on with IPFS (no coding required) and better understand the workings of these networks. This will be followed by an open discussion on the potential use cases for local movements in the region and the limitations in the technology that need to be addressed to make this more useful. Welcome to share this with your networks!

Note: If you didn't attend the first event you are still welcome come to the second.

Chiang Mai will be a major hub of community activity and learning this October. Many communities connected to crypto/web3 are planning "pop-up villages" - a relatively new phenomenon where hundreds of people from around the world spend up to a month together as part of shared residencies and community events.

This will be a unique time when many people at the bleeding edge of digital tech and regeneration and climate, indigenous wisdom, encryption and digital sovereignty, community governance, among other interesting themes of our time, will be in town and we’re excited to co-create.
