Many people may not know that Chiang Mai is currently in the process of being nominated for UNESCO World Heritage status under the title “Chiang Mai, Capital of Lanna.” This nomination reflects the rich history, art, culture, and prosperity of the ancient Lanna Kingdom, whose legacy has been preserved for more than 700 years.

🙏 Wai Kru Ceremony 2026 🙏
At our school, the Wai Kru Ceremony is a tradition that has been held every year for generations and remains an important part of learning Traditional Thai Massage.

Wai Kru is more than simply paying respect to our teachers. It is an opportunity to honor all the masters and practitioners who have preserved and passed down the knowledge of Traditional Thai Medicine and Thai Massage throughout the centuries.

During the ceremony, we pay homage to Father Doctor Shivagakomarpaj, who is widely regarded as the Father of Traditional Thai Medicine and the spiritual founder of Thai massage. According to Buddhist tradition, he served as the personal physician to the Buddha more than 2,500 years ago and continues to be deeply respected by Thai massage practitioners around the world.

Even as the world changes, gratitude, respect, and remembrance of those who came before us remain at the heart of Thai healing traditions.

This year’s Wai Kru Ceremony will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026. We warmly invite our alumni, current students, massage practitioners, and anyone interested in Traditional Thai Medicine and Thai Massage to join us in this special occasion as we honor our teachers and celebrate the living heritage of Thai healing wisdom.
