Good Morning for all my friends!!

There are thousands of different Thai dishes, and only perhaps a few of them are considered Thai breakfast only dishes, meaning exclusively available in the morning for breakfast.

If there’s one food that immediately pops into my mind as a Thai breakfast dish, it’s the thick rice congee porridge known as Joke (โจ๊ก).

Joke (โจ๊ก) is very similar to the Chinese style of congee, rice boiled until it dissolves, and forms a thick porridge that’s almost the consistency of instant oatmeal.

It is served piping hot, usually with an egg cracked in the middle, some pieces of minced pork made into meatballs, sometimes a few pieces of liver, and finally garnished with thin slices of ginger and cilantro. When I eat Joke (โจ๊ก), I like to then load it up with black pepper and sq**rt in a few drops of sauce Maggi.

Perhaps if there’s one morning meal in Thailand that would be the rough equivalent of a Western style bowl of cornflakes and milk, Joke (โจ๊ก) would be it, a classic dish that everyone enjoys in the morning from time to time, if not frequently.

Tuk Tuk or 'Sam Lor' (Three-Wheeled) use to everyone's favorite way of getting around Bangkok or in big city. So named 'Tuk Tuk' because of their engine.

Doing a similar job to the taxi is Thailand's ubiquitous. So named because of the sound of their engine, these are motorized rickshaws and are popular amongst tourists for their novelty value. They are occasionally faster than taxis in heavy traffic as weaving in and out is easier, but generally about the same or slower. Without any luggage, 3 people can fit into one fairly comfortably - it's possible to fit more in but it gets a bit cramped. Fares always have to be bargained for, and it is sometimes possible to bargain tuk-tuk drivers down to less than the taxi flagfall of 35B when they make good value. Most times, they offer no savings over a taxi, except perhaps if you're good at bargaining and can speak good Thai. The initial price they quote is likely to be well over the going rate, but it's easy to bargain it down to a more reasonable one if you know roughly the equivalent taxi fare.

It's essential to bargain the price with tuk-tuks before getting in. If you only ask after the ride, it's likely to end in a request for an ridiculous fare which can obviously lead to an unpleasant situation.

The majority of foreigners staying in Thailand are not able to speak even basic Thai. In most cases they don’t make any efforts to studying Thai at all because they are told that it is just “too difficult”. This is not true, in fact learning Thai is easier than learning Western languages like English, French or German.

The only real challenge during the beginning of your Thai language studies is to getting used to the five tones (low, mid, high, falling and rising) as well as to the other two elements of pronouncing words correctly: the vowel length and the pronunciation of the final consonant.

Learning the Thai language is not as difficalt as you think.
