ဝါဆိုလပြည့်နေ့ ဓမ္မစကြာအခါတော်နေ့သည် *“သန္ဓေ၊ တောထွက်၊ ဓမ္မစက်၊ တချက်ပြာဋိဟာ”* ဟူသည့် မြတ်ဗုဒ္ဓ ၏ ထူးမြတ်သော ဖြစ်စဉ်လေးမျိုး ဖြစ်ပေါ်ခဲ့သော နေ့ထူးနေ့မြတ်ဖြစ်ပါသည်။ ဂေါတမမြတ်စွာဘုရားရှင်သည် ဝါဆိုလပြည့်နေ့အခါသမယတွင် တုသိတာနတ်ပြည်ကနေသက်ဆင်းပြီး လူ့ပြည်မှာ ပဋိသန္ဓေနေတော်မူခဲ့ခြင်း၊ ဘုရားအလောင်းတော် သိဒ္ဓတ္ထမင်းသားဟာ တောထွက်တော်မူခဲ့ခြင်း၊ ဘုရားရှင်ဟာ မိဂဒါဝုန်တောမှာ ပဉ္စဝဂ္ဂီ (၅) ဦးကို ဓမ္မစကြာတရားဦး ဟောတော်မူခဲ့ခြင်းနဲ့ ဝါဆိုလပြည့်နေ့မှာ ဂေါတမမြတ်စွာဘုရားဟာ သာဝတ္ထိပြည် သရက်ဖြူပင်ရင်းမှာ ရေအစုံ မီးအစုံ တန်ခိုးပြာဋိဟာကို ပြသ တော်မူခြင်းတို့ ဖြစ်တည်ခဲ့ပါသည်။
ယနေ့ထူးမြတ်သည့်နေ့အခါတွင် ဗုဒ္ဓဘာသာဝင်ပြည်သူများအနေဖြင့် မြတ်စွာဘုရားရှင်အားရည်မှန်း၍ ပူဇော်ထိုက်သော သံဃာတော်များကို အလေးအမြတ်ထားကာ ကုသိုလ်အဖြာဖြာတို့ကို ပြုလုပ်ကြနိုင်ကြပါစေကြောင်း၊ တရားမြတ်ကို ရည်စူးကာဘာ၀နာ ပွားများ နိုင်ပါစေကြောင်း၊ ဘေးဘယာဝေးကွာကြပါစေကြောင်း ဆုတောင်းမေတ္တာပို့သအပ်ပါတယ်။

"ဗျာ၊ ဖွား၊ ပွင့်၊ စံ ဤလေးတန် မှတ်ရန် ဗုဒ္ဓနေ့" ဆိုသည့်အတိုင်း မြတ်စွာဘုရားရှင် ဗျာဒိတ် ခံယူတော်မူသောနေ့၊ ဖွားမြင်သောနေ့၊ ဘုရားရှင်ဖြစ်တော်မူသောနေ့ နှင့် ပရိနိဗ္ဗာန်စံသောနေ့ဖြစ်သည့် ယနေ့ "ကဆုန်လပြည့် ဗုဒ္ဓနေ့" သည် ဗုဒ္ဓဘာသာဝင်တိုင်းအတွက် နေ့ထူးနေ့မြတ် နေ့လေးဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ ဒါ့အပြင် ဤနေ့သည် ဘုရားပွင့်တော်မူသည့် ဗောဓိညောင်ပင်ကို ရည်မှန်းကာ ဗောဓိပင်များကို ရေစင်သွန်းလောင်းပြီး ကုသိုလ်ယူကြတဲ့ “ကဆုန်ညောင်ရေသွန်းပွဲနေ့” လေးလည်းဖြစ်ပါသည်။
