Pad krapow + fried egg… such a Thai combo 🍳🇹🇭

After you order, they might ask:

เอาไข่ดาวไหมคะ?
ao khài-daao mái khá?
= Would you like a fried egg?

Want one? Just say:

เอาค่ะ
ao kâ
= Yes, please.

ไข่ดาว
khài-daao
= fried egg

Now you’ll know what they’re asking when you order your next pad krapow 👀

ao khài-daao mái khá?
= Would you like a fried egg?

Want one? Just say:

เอาค่ะ
ao kâ
= Yes, please / I’ll have one.

And honestly… pad krapow without ไข่ดาว? 😭😂

You’ll hear this little word a LOT at Thai food stalls 😂

หมด
mòt
= sold out / we’re out

ไก่หมดค่ะ
gài mòt kâ
= We’re out of chicken.

Want something else? Just say:

เอาหมูค่ะ
ao mǔu kâ
= I’ll have pork.

Don’t want anything else?

ไม่เป็นไรค่ะ ขอบคุณค่ะ
mâi bpen rai kâ, khàawp-khun kâ
= No worries, thank you.

Save this one you’ll definitely hear หมด (mòt) in Thailand 😂🇹🇭

Need to tell your driver where to turn? 🚕🇹🇭

Just say:

เลี้ยวขวาตรงนี้เลยค่ะ
líao khwǎa dtrong níi loei kâ
= Turn right here.

Quick pattern:

เลี้ยวขวา
líao khwǎa
= Turn right

ตรงนี้เลย
dtrong níi loei
= Right here

Super simple Thai you’ll actually use in a taxi or Grab.

You’ll probably hear this when you’re shopping in Thailand 👀

ลูกค้ามีสมาชิกไหมคะ?
lûuk-kháa mii sà-maa-chík mái khá?
= Do you have a membership?

The useful word:

สมาชิก
sà-maa-chík
= member / membership

If you don’t have one, just say:

ไม่มีค่ะ/ครับ
mâi mii kâ/kráp
= No, I don’t.

I asked a tourist at the market:

“Do you know how to say delicious in Thai?” 😆

She said no, so I taught her:

อร่อย
a-ròi
= delicious

อร่อยมาก
a-ròi mâak
= very delicious

These little real-life moments are honestly the best way to learn Thai 🇹🇭

When the vendor keeps offering you more and you’re already done 😅

Just say:

เอาแค่นี้ค่ะ
ao khâe níi kâ
= I’ll just take this / That’s all for me.

Super useful when you’re shopping in Thailand and you don’t want to keep saying “no” over and over 😂

If you’re at a shop and you’re not sure if you’re allowed to try something, just ask:

อันนี้ลองได้ไหมคะ?
an-níi long dâai mái khá?
= Can I try this?

If they say:

ได้ค่ะ / ได้ครับ
dâai kâ / dâai kráp
= Yes, you can.

or

ไม่ได้ค่ะ / ไม่ได้ครับ
mâi dâai kâ / mâi dâai kráp
= No, you can’t.

Super useful at markets and shops when you want to try before buying 👀

After you order at a Thai café, they might ask you this:

ทานที่ร้านหรือรับกลับบ้านดีครับ?
taan thîi ráan rʉ̌ʉ ráp glàp bâan dii khráp?
= For here or takeaway?

Quick thing to know:

ทาน
taan
= eat — more polite

กิน
gin
= eat — more casual / everyday Thai

So if you want to eat there, you can simply say:

กินที่นี่ค่ะ
gin thîi-nîi kâ
= For here.

For takeaway:

เอากลับบ้านค่ะ
ao glàp bâan kâ
= Takeaway.

When you want hot coffee in Thailand, say:

เอากาแฟร้อนค่ะ
ao gaa-fae rón kâ
= I’ll have a hot coffee.

If I want a cappuccino:

เอาคาปูชิโน่ร้อนค่ะ
ao kaa-bpuu-chii-nôo rón kâ
= I’ll have a hot cappuccino.

Easy pattern:

เอา + drink + ร้อน
ao + drink + rón
= I’ll have + drink + hot
