The Nest School Chiang Mai

Our final field trip of the year was to McDonalds! The children were incredibly sensible on the walk there and we know how impressed passers-by must have been. They were taken on a tour and taught how to make a burger before thoroughly enjoying their creations!

At the Nest, we promote a healthy diet but we also promote a healthy relationship with food where no food is forbidden, as long as healthy choices are the norm.

On Friday, we had our end of year performance and celebrations, and what a day it was!! We were so proud of how beautifully the children sang and how well they presented - seeing their tremendous growth in confidence has been a joy to witness. We followed the performance with an exquisite pot luck where all families brought their favourite dishes. Such a special day to remember!

The Diamonds created book reviews for your child's summer reading! After learning how to use iMovie, these 5 and 6-year-olds created these incredible videos with a little help from their partner! I'm super proud of them! Happy reading!

We were so lucky with the weather today and we sure made the most of it! We had a ball soaking each other in the morning then in the afternoon, we traveled by songtheaw to the local swimming pool.

This week we took a field trip to our see our friends at Thaitan Muaythai Circuit ไทยทันมวยไทยเซอคิท and Little Lion Children's Bookshop หนังสือเด็กภาษาอังกฤษ นิทานภาษาอังกฤษ! It was a super fun mix of loud and quiet! The kids got to experience 8 different stations at the gym including sparring with Kru Golf, Kru Nak and Kru Game. They are so amazing with children! At Little Lion, the kids got to look at and purchase books from one of Chiang Mai's only English language bookstores. It was a wonderful field trip!

Today we went on a walking field trip to Rimping (local grocery store) to look at how they organize and sort their different items. We figured out why they organized the store the way they did, and then gathered ideas about how we might organize and sort the different items that were brought from home. We were so excited to make our own store here at school today! There is so much math coming from our classroom store, including counting, addition, subtraction, money and story problems (just to name a few) that we will be working on in our store over the next few weeks! Learning is always better when it's authentic and fun!
