10 Years of Restoration: The Transformation of Ban Pong Krai 🌳
Two photos, the exact same place. See the incredible transformation from a degraded planting site in 2016 to a thriving forest canopy in 2026. This is the change we work for! 💚
As part of Thailand's pioneering Payments for Ecosystem Services (PES) framework, we have restored 20 rai of land at Ban Pong Krai. The restoration area is divided equally between our two key supporters, with 10 rai dedicated to AURA and 10 rai to the PUR Project.
Together, we planted a total of 9,560 trees across 24 different indigenous species.
This project is a powerful, ongoing partnership between the Ban Pong Krai community, AURA, the PUR Project, and FORRU-CMU.

July 8, 2026: Fertilizer Application and Plot Maintenance 💪
After planting, consistent care is essential to ensure saplings survive their critical first two years. To support this, FORRU-CMU, volunteers, and officers from the Nong Hoi Royal Project recently conducted maintenance at our restoration plots in Nong Hoi and the Royal Project’s Mon Chaem site—a beautiful area known for its fresh air and stunning views.⛰️
During this session, we applied 50 grams of fertilizer per tree and refreshed the mulch around the base of each sapling to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.
Thank you to everyone who joined us to help restore our forests and care for these trees!🌱

Baseline Tree Monitoring Activity.
📅 Date: Monday, July 13, 2026
📍 Location: Ban Mae Sa Noi restoration plot, Pong Yaeng Sub-district, Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai
⏰ Time: 08:00 AM – 04:30 PM
As this activity will take place outdoors, we recommend that all volunteers dress appropriately and comfortably.
✅ Wear long-sleeved shirts, long pants, a hat, and hiking shoes or closed-toe shoes.
✅ Bring your personal medication
✅ Bring your own water bottle and raincoat
The research unit will provide transportation from CMU to the activity site. Drinking water, snacks, and lunch will also be provided.
📍 Meeting Point: In fornt of LAW COFF.MATH

On April 21, 2026, the FORRU SCORE team visited Ban Ton Ngun in the Sob Perng Sub-district, Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai. 🌿
It was a great opportunity to conduct a rapid site assessment and drone survey at the Ban Ton Ngun planting site. 🌱
Additionally, the team collaborated with the Sob Perng Subdistrict Administrative Organization and local villagers, sharing knowledge on how drone technology can be used to capture aerial views for forest restoration.🌳
This project is supported by the Keidanren Nature Conservation Fund.
