To celebrate the 78th Anniversary of the Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University, PGS is honored to welcome Professor Amitav Acharya, Distinguished Professor of International Relations at American University and former President of the International Studies Association.

Professor Acharya will deliver a public lecture on “The Future of ASEAN in an Era of Strategic Competition”

The Politics and Global Studies (PGS) Program, Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University, is delighted to congratulate three PGS students on their outstanding achievements at the Climate Corps Summer School, hosted by Korea University.

Competing alongside more than 120 students from around the world, representing 20 international teams, our students demonstrated exceptional creativity, teamwork, and presentation skills in the program's project pitching competition.

🧘‍♀️ 12th International Day of Yoga 2026 🧘‍♂️
On the morning of 21 June 2026, Chulalongkorn University had the honor of co-hosting the 12th International Day of Yoga in collaboration with the Embassy of India in Thailand and partner organizations. The event brought together distinguished guests, diplomats, representatives from international organizations, members of the Chulalongkorn community, and participants from across Thailand to celebrate the universal values of health, harmony, and well-being through yoga.

The program was honored by the presence of (1) H.E. Mr. Pattana Promphat, Minister of Public Health, (2) H.E. Mr. Puneet Agarwal, Ambassador of India to Thailand, (3) Ms. Lin Yang, Deputy Executive Secretary of UNESCAP, (4) Ms. Sasirit Tangulrat, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and (5) Associate Professor Dr. Prakorn Siriprakob, Dean of the Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University, who participated in the ceremonial lamp-lighting ceremony and delivered remarks highlighting the importance of health, mindfulness, international friendship, and sustainable well-being.

This year's celebration witnessed an even larger turnout than in previous years, reflecting the growing interest in yoga and the increasing recognition of its benefits for physical, mental, and emotional well-being. The event embodied the spirit of yoga as a bridge connecting people across cultures, generations, and national boundaries. Participants joined together in the Common Yoga Protocol Session, demonstrating that the pursuit of physical health, mental well-being, and inner balance remains a shared aspiration of humanity.

Chulalongkorn University extends its sincere appreciation to all organizations, volunteers, and participants who contributed to the success of this meaningful event.

The Politics and Global Studies (PGS) Programme, Faculty of Political Science, Chulalongkorn University, joins the nation in mourning the passing of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati, Krom Luang Ratchasarinee Siribajra.

Throughout her life, Her Royal Highness devoted herself tirelessly to the service of the Kingdom of Thailand and its people. Her unwavering commitment to justice, the rule of law, human dignity, and public service inspired countless individuals both within Thailand and internationally. Her contributions to legal development, humanitarian causes, social welfare, and the advancement of vulnerable groups reflected a profound dedication to the well-being of society and the strengthening of national institutions.

As a programme dedicated to cultivating future leaders, global citizens, and public servants, PGS has long regarded Her Royal Highness as an exemplary figure whose life embodied the values of integrity, compassion, responsibility, and service to others. Her legacy will continue to inspire present and future generations of students to contribute meaningfully to society and the international community.

On behalf of the PGS community, we extend our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the Royal Family and to all who mourn this profound loss.

May Her Royal Highness rest in eternal peace, and may her remarkable legacy continue to illuminate the path for generations to come. 🙏

On Saturday, 6 June 2026, the Politics and Global Studies (PGS) Program proudly welcomed 69 new students, including five international students, as members of PGS Batch #7.

The day was filled with warmth, excitement, and a strong sense of community. Students, parents, faculty members, alumni, and staff came together to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of our newest PGS students. The enthusiastic participation, thoughtful discussions, and positive energy throughout the day reflected the values that have long defined the PGS family.

The success of the Orientation would not have been possible without the support and dedication of many individuals.

First and foremost, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to Associate Professor Dr. Prakorn Siriprakob, Dean of the Faculty of Political Science, for his unwavering support of the PGS Program and for delivering an inspiring Welcome Address. His encouragement and commitment continue to strengthen the academic and international aspirations of PGS.

Our sincere appreciation also goes to the PGS Student Council, whose members worked tirelessly to welcome the newest generation of PGS students. Their enthusiasm, leadership, and willingness to support their juniors exemplify the strong spirit of friendship and community that makes PGS unique.

Special thanks are due to the PGS administrative staff, whose relentless efforts behind the scenes ensured that every aspect of the Orientation ran smoothly. Their professionalism, dedication, and attention to detail helped create a welcoming and meaningful experience for both students and parents.

We would also like to thank the parents and guardians for their trust and confidence in the Faculty of Political Science and the PGS Program. We look forward to working together in supporting the growth and success of our students.
