Most people do not cook at home- it is much cheaper to eat Street or Market food.

There are people selling food on every corner and in every street. From their homes, shops, stands or bike carts!

We are slowly discovering all the local gems 🍜 🥘

Tonight we ordered noodles with pork dumplings, slices of pork and pieces of crispy pork.

Bags with broth, sweet chilli oil and chilli vinegar as condiments.

Cost of 5 delicious meals- just over 500tbh (R250)♥️🇹🇭

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS

Matty went to a games centre with a bunch of friends after school.
Returning, he caught the BTS train to the station 1km away from our home.

His Muvmi app (for tuktuk taxi) did not work so he decided to walk home - at 8:30pm on a Friday night

Still getting used to this “freedom”, I walked towards him- meeting him half way (drunk drivers and snakes my biggest concern🤣🫣)

As I walked down the block, I soaked in the Friday night activities-
Kids racing on their bikes & smaller kids playing ball in the street…
Men sitting outside a block of flats chatting & smoking…
Old ladies (the neighbourhood watch) sitting at the open restaurant having dinner and beer…
And the lady with the golden retriever coming out her house to greet me (she speaks fluent English and we always have dog related chats)

Bangkok is not the safest city but this felt pretty content for a Friday night🇹🇭❤️

This pottery shop felt like it belonged back home! Loved spending my morning pottering around🥰❤️🙌🏻
