Whether you'd like to give your child a head start before phonics begins at school or support their understanding of phonics, I'm here to help 🪄⭐️
I'm Ms Helen, an Early Years and Phonics Specialist from the UK, and I've been teaching for 17 years.
Phonics should follow a clear structure while still being engaging, fun and motivating children to want to learn.
My sessions are playful, hands-on and interactive, while helping children develop a lifelong love of books and reading 📚 ❤️

Painting with vehicles 🚗 🚜 🚚 🚒
This week at Hampton International Pre-School, the children had a great time experimenting with vehicles to make prints onto different materials. They enjoyed mixing the paint to make new colours 🌈 and listening to the bubble wrap pop as they pushed the vehicles along it 🚗 ✨️
What a fun way to paint! 🎨

Last week at Mini Minds Playgroup at Hampton, we had a fantastic time with our focus book 'The Tiger Who Came to Tea' 🐯☕
The children got creative with black and orange collage materials to make their very own tiger art 🖤🧡, explored sensory water with scented teas like cinnamon, lemon, ginger & butterfly pea 🌿🍋, and served up cups of tea to parents and friends using teapots and cups! 🍵
Our playdough area was full of imagination as little ones made cakes & cookies with fun loose parts! 🍪🧁
We’re very excited for this week’s theme – vehicles! 🚗✈️🚚🚜

👀 A Peek at Our Week at Mini Minds Playgroup at Little Dude Playhouse 👀
This week, our focus book was Rainbow Fish 🌈 🐟 and we transformed our classroom into an underwater adventure! 🌊. The children had a great time exploring a variety of sea-themed activities designed to encourage learning through play ✨️.
In the water area, the children worked together to unstick sea creatures 🐙 🦈 🐋 and return them to the ocean 🌊.
The sand area was a hit, with little hands building sandcastles 🏰 and creating ice cream treats 🍦.
Creativity was in full swing as the children designed their own colourful rainbow fish using colourful materials on contact paper 🌈 🐟.
The children also enjoyed playing with puzzles and a magnetic fishing game 🎣, which the children absolutely loved! 😍
What a fun-filled session! We can’t wait for the next one! 🎉

Bringing books to life! 📚✨
This week at Hampton International School, Sathorn, we focused on the book Goldilocks and the Three Bears
🐻 🐻🐻. The children explored various activities around the classroom based on this classic book.
Here, the children played alongside each other using the props to act out scenes from the book while re-calling key vocabulary at the same time 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
As an early years teacher, there's nothing better than seeing children use what they've learnt from a book and bring it to life in their play 🪄🌟
Focusing on a story and providing story props helps develop early literacy skills while also developing communication and language.
Books play such a crucial part in children's learning and development, which is why we love books ❤️📚❤️
