📖✨ 23 de abril: Día Internacional del Libro
Hoy celebramos la magia de la lectura. En Madrid, el Círculo de Bellas Artes acoge una tradición única: la lectura ininterrumpida del Quijote, que dura más de 48 horas y reúne a cientos de voces, desde escritores famosos hasta ciudadanos anónimos. 🎭

Curiosidades que quizá no sabías:
🔹 El 23 de abril se eligió porque coincide con la muerte de Cervantes, Shakespeare y Garcilaso de la Vega (aunque no exactamente el mismo día, por distintos calendarios).
🔹 La primera lectura pública del Quijote en el CBA comenzó en 1996 y no ha parado desde entonces.
🔹 En Cataluña, además de libros, se regalan rosas. Una tradición romántica que une Sant Jordi y los libros.
🔹 El Quijote fue el primer libro moderno que rompió las reglas de la novela caballeresca… ¡y por eso lo amamos!

📖✨ April 23: World Book Day
Today we celebrate the joy of reading. In Madrid, the Círculo de Bellas Artes hosts a unique tradition: the non-stop reading of Don Quixote, lasting over 48 hours and featuring hundreds of voices—from famous writers to everyday citizens. 🎭

Fun facts you might not know:
🔹 April 23 was chosen because it marks the death of Cervantes, Shakespeare, and Garcilaso de la Vega (though not exactly the same day due to different calendars).
🔹 The first public reading of Don Quixote at the CBA began in 1996 and has continued ever since.
🔹 In Catalonia, people also give roses along with books—a romantic twist linking Saint George's Day and reading.
🔹 Don Quixote was the first modern novel to break the rules of chivalric romance… and that's why we love it!

Karambolage España: la Lectura Continuada del Quijote - Ver la emisión completa | ARTE Como a muchos españoles a Eduardo Navarro Carrión le daba bastante pereza leer el Quijote, la gran obra de Miguel de Cervantes. Hasta que empezó a trabajar en un lugar en el que miles de lectores se toman muy en serio las locuras del hidalgo español.

🎶 El Instituto Cervantes de Bangkok agradece a la Universidad de Chulalongkorn por ser nuestra anfitriona, y muy especialmente a sus dos facultades –Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts y Faculty of Arts– que hicieron posible la actuación del Dúo Belcorde y la masterclass con los alumnos.

🙏 Gracias al Dúo Belcorde por su arte, a ambas facultades por su colaboración y recibimiento, y a todos los asistentes (alumnos y espectadores) por participar.

🌏 En el Cervantes estamos contentos de seguir acercando las culturas española y tailandesa, y esperamos realizar más actividades culturales en el futuro.

The Spanish Duo Belcorde consists of Manuel Briega (violin) and Adrián Fernández (Spanish guitar). Violin and guitar form a duo of great interest, thanks to the versatility of these two instruments, the melodic and harmonic richness, and the perfect symbiosis that develops between them. Dúo Belcorde has made numerous national and international tours across Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, South America, and Oceania, organized by important public and private institutions as well as different governments around the world.

Thanks to the sponsorship of the Excelentísima Diputación de Ciudad Real (Spain), the invitation of the Instituto Cervantes of Bangkok, and the welcome of Chulalongkorn University, we have the honor to present this event.

El Dúo Belcorde es un ensemble español formado por Manuel Briega (violín) y Adrián Fernández (guitarra española).
