At the suggestion of my girlfriend, I recently had the unique experience of watching a "Barbie" movie.
As the only male in the theater, I couldn't help but notice the curious glances from the predominantly female audience.
While some might have wondered why I was there, I have no regrets about this cinematic adventure.
In fact, it led me to a fascinating revelation about understanding females that I'd like to share.
In my newfound perspective, I've drawn an interesting parallel between female traits and various dance styles.
It's as if there are three distinct aspects within a woman: the Barbie, the Lady, and the Evivl (pronounced "evil"). Just as dances can elicit different facets of a woman's personality, certain dance styles bring out these varying qualities.
For instance, dances like ballroom, and bachata seem to awaken the "Barbie" within, bringing forth a playful and carefree spirit.
On the other hand, the elegance and grace of tango evoke the "Lady" aspect, showcasing sophistication and poise.

However, it's the Salsa that stands as a unique dance form, capable of stirring all three elements – Barbie, Lady, and Evivl – simultaneously within a woman.
As a salsa dancer, I've come to understand the importance of perceiving my partner's mood before taking to the dance floor.
Often, the dance's ambiance is influenced by the genre of salsa music chosen by the DJ.
This awareness allows for a more harmonious and enjoyable dance experience. And when your dance partner is also your life partner, the significance of not provoking the "Evivl" becomes especially apparent.
In line with the sentiment expressed in the original bolero song sung by La Lupe and covered by La India, this message is a reminder of the delicate balance that salsa, and life, demand.
So, let the rhythm guide us, and let us dance in a way that respects and celebrates the various dimensions of womanhood – from the playful Barbie to the elegant Lady while ensuring the "Evivl" remains at bay 🙂
