Some doors open onto a profession.

This one was designed to open onto a possible future.

On Saturday, 9 May 2026, .alive, together with .tourlife, hosted 𝗣𝗦𝗬𝗖𝗛 𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗧 at MAHAJITNAKHON Clinic () — a CBT-based mental health clinic in Sukhumvit 93, near BTS Bang Chak.

81% were students and early-career participants, each arriving with a version of the same question:

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲?

The session gathered participants in a circle to explore three dimensions of the mental health field:

· 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 — how a clinic can remain sustainable without compromising the quality of care.

· 𝗣𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 — what the work looks like beyond textbooks and classroom imagination.

· 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 — how psychological knowledge can be translated for the public without losing accuracy, ethics, or responsibility.

What emerged was more than a career talk.

The conversation opened up psychology as a field moving toward four possible futures: knowledge creation, applied practice, commercialization, and ecosystem governance — expanding into territories that do not always have clear names yet.

AI–human flourishing.
Purpose-driven work.
Tailor-made careers.
𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱.

The post-event survey reflected a warm response: 4/5 overall satisfaction, with 100% of respondents saying they would recommend the event to others.

But the line that stayed with the room came from a high-school participant: “I was there for only one day, but it will definitely become a beautiful memory that lasts forever.”

At first glance, the theme may sound like it belongs to economists. But beneath it sits a deeper psychological invitation:

To reclaim a sense of agency,

To recognize that reality is shaped through choices, decisions, and actions,

And to remember that the future is not only something we inherit, but something we practice into being.

One becomes many.

Helplessness becomes hope.

Climate anxiety becomes collective authorship.

Through ten clusters — Energy, Food, Nature, Health & Well-being, City & Mobility, Education, Hospitality & Tourism, Community, Economy, and Art & Culture — and six cross-cutting issues — Policy, Law & Governance; Area-based Collaboration; Economy & Finance; Social Change Mechanisms; Behavior Change; and Regional Cooperation — becomes a decentralized, collaborative platform inviting people from all walks of life to co-author what the new economy can become, not only for Bangkok but for Southeast Asia’s climate future.
