Master of Science in Forensic Science
(International Programme)
Launched in 2004, the Forensic Science Graduate Programme at the Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, is the first and only Forensic Science International Program in Thailand. The programme was developed in collaboration with the Forensic Science Unit, University of Strathclyde in UK, where forensic science has been taught since 1966, the Royal Thai Police Office of Forensic Crime Detection, and the Central Institute of Forensic Science (CIFS). The programme was designed to fulfill the need of the country in applying science to the purposes of law by providing graduate education for existing or future law enforcement personnel and forensic laboratory analysts. In addition to these, the activities of the programme also support and develop fundamental research in Forensic Science. Students will attend an approximately 10-month taught courses, and a research project will be conducted from the summer session onwards. Therefore, the students are able to graduate within two academic years. In summer, the students will be assigned to conduct the research in appropriate local Forensic Science Laboratories or overseas. (Students must be responsible for their travel and living expenses.)
