The Importance of Legitimate Honorary Degrees: A Stand Against Degree Mills
Honorary degrees are a respected tradition in the academic world, bestowed upon individuals who have made significant contributions to their field of endeavor or society at large. These degrees are symbols of recognition, celebrating achievements, dedication, and impact. However, as the world of education grows more complex, the integrity of honorary degrees has come under scrutiny, largely due to the proliferation of organizations that offer degrees in exchange for money under the guise of “administration fees,” “donations,” or other thinly veiled financial transactions.
At the International Education Accreditation Council (IEAC), we applaud and celebrate those who receive legitimate honorary degrees based on merit and contribution. These honors reflect not just an individual’s accomplishments but also the integrity of the institution conferring them. True honorary degrees are never for sale—they are earned through years of dedication, leadership, and impact within a particular field. They uphold the values of the academic community and contribute to its ongoing prestige.
Unfortunately, there is a growing number of institutions, often referred to as degree mills, that engage in the unethical practice of essentially selling degrees, including honorary ones. These institutions, in many cases, do not even possess the legal authority to confer degrees, further diminishing the value of any credentials they offer. The rise of such practices devalues not only the individuals who unknowingly or knowingly purchase these degrees but also the entire academic system, diluting the meaning and respect that genuine honorary degrees carry.
Moreover, some individuals have taken to collecting degrees, often flaunting an impressive number of credentials. However, it is critical to emphasize that it is not the quantity of degrees one holds that matters, but the legitimacy and authenticity of each degree. A degree earned, whether through academic effort or as an honorary acknowledgment of contribution, holds far greater value than one that has been bought and paid for.
At IEAC, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity in education. We do not support, endorse, or encourage institutions or individuals who engage in the practice of selling degrees under any pretense. Our mission is to protect the value of legitimate academic credentials and ensure that honors, including honorary degrees, are conferred for the right reasons—achievement, dedication, and contribution to society.
In a world where academic integrity is more important than ever, we encourage individuals and institutions alike to prioritize quality over quantity, and to seek degrees and honors that represent real accomplishments rather than financial transactions.

Over the years, I've been fortunate to collect art that truly turns a house into a home, including lithographs by Picasso and Joan Miró, oils by Pro Hart, sculptures by Demetre Chiparus, paintings by Livio Zucchi and Saverio Lucci , and watercolors by Guido Miglioranzi.
This note isn’t just about name-dropping, but rather about expressing my deep gratitude to an old friend, Mr. Noel Smith . Noel and I worked together many years ago, and recently, Facebook reminded me of my mother's passing. At that time, I shared a photograph of her, and Noel, in response, created a drawing based on it.
It’s rare to receive such a personal and beautiful gift from a dear friend. Noel, thank you so much for the wonderful drawing—it holds a treasured place in our home.

Understanding Your Health: Important Blood Tests for Men
As we age, it's natural to have more concerns about our health. I've been hearing from friends about their medical issues, fears, and confusion, and I understand how overwhelming it can be. That’s why I want to share a resource that I’ve found incredibly valuable—a PDF guide on important blood tests for men.
This guide is not just a list of tests; it provides clear descriptions of what each test is for and includes the 'normal' ranges you can expect. It’s a handy tool that can help you have more informed discussions with your doctor or GP, empowering you to take control of your health.
Staying informed is one of the best ways to manage our health as we grow older. If you’re interested in the guide, feel free to message me, and I’ll be happy to share it with you. Let’s stay healthy and informed together!
You can find this resource at https://www.lifeextension.com/magazine/2006/5/report_blood #:~:text=Most%20Common%20Blood%20Tests%20to%20Maintain%20Your%20Health&text=Life%20Extension's%20top%2010%20tests,Hormone%2C%20Free%20Testosterone%20and%20Estradiol.

Had an exciting game of chess (yes Chess can be exciting) with Deron Wagner where I managed a check mate with only one piece having been captured!
It's not all roses though I lost the first game by a long way, so hats off to Deron for that victory.

Off to Phnom Penh to do some work with Preah Sihamoniraja Buddhist University through their Foundation Initiative helping to develop their English Programme.
I was able to put the trip off by one day so that Neung and I could celebrate our 11th year anniversary.
We had quiet albeit very enjoyable night by ourselves.
Ok, about to board. Stay safe everyone and much love.
